Things to do in Nishijin Textile Center

We had such a wonderful time at the ramen-making class in Kyoto with Miki and Momo! The experience felt so authentic from start to finish. Miki and Momo were absolutely fantastic hosts, super friendly, kind, and full of great conversation. They made ua feel welcome and made the class so much fun. We laughed, cooked, and enjoyed one of the best bowls of ramen we’ve ever had. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Kyoto who wants to do something hands-on, tasty, and truly memorable! Many thanks Momo and Miki!!

Was a very nice experience. The staff were very friendly and also made an effort to make sure everyone had a mini pig to pet.

saw the event while casually walking around Kyoto. there are several posters all around the city. we are so glad we booked this event. the Nijo-Jo castle was beautifully lit up at night.

Jasmine our guide was great and very knowledgeable giving us facts and history on all the locations! we were lucky enough to see a maiko going to an appointment at one of the locations. seeing the pagoda at night was amazing and it wasnt crowded and we were able to enjoy each location. would highly recommend going on a weeknight if you want less crowds!

I really enjoyed the tour! Jasmine shared many interesting stories about geisha culture and the traditions of the district, from how maiko training works to showing us what a tea house where geishas work looks like. It was especially nice that the tour was at a leisurely pace: there was time to take photos, ask questions, and simply enjoy the atmosphere. The most exciting moment was the chance appearance of a real maiko hurrying to or from a meeting. The guide helped us observe correctly and respectfully, without disturbing her—this added a feeling of authenticity and respect for the traditions. The tour lasted about three hours, but the time flew by. The guide was very attentive and spoke clear English.

The instructor is awesome, and the photos turned out great! They provided immediate assistance whenever I had questions during the class. Plus, I got to take my shuriken home after finishing it. But... customs threw my shuriken away. I'm so bummed.

I'm planning a trip to Kyoto, and after learning about the Kyoto Botanical Garden on TikTok, I decided to go with my daughter (23). We were both deeply moved. It was magical and so beautiful. The plants felt different from how they are during the day, which I thought was lovely.
