Fantastic 5.0
I chose a guided tour mainly because, after researching, I found that the cost was about the same as traveling independently with multiple transfers. Not having to transfer was fantastic. This time, our tour guide, Xiao Fang, guided us through Wuzhen East柵 and led us into the Nanxun Scenic Area. Although the combined tour resulted in a large crowd, requiring us to stay very close to hear the guide properly (I constantly heard 'You have fallen behind' from my headset), it definitely added much more depth to the travel experience compared to just wandering around on our own and listening to a guide. True to the itinerary description, lunch, tour headsets, and the boat cruise were not included in the tour fee. Lunch was filling and might only be considered specialty food for foreigners, but the other two items are highly recommended for optional purchase. There were some foreigners in our group, which I felt slightly detracted from the overall experience, but purely from the perspective of a shared shuttle tour, it was actually quite alright. Aside from the riverside and bridges in East Zha, I also highly recommend going inside the Hongyuantai Dye Workshop for photos; since we visited on a weekend, the alleys should have been great for photos too otherwise. As for Nanxun, following Tour Guide Xiao Fang's advice, we headed straight to the Hundred-Jian Building. The walk was a bit far, and at one point I wondered why I had suddenly left the tourist area, but it was truly worth seeing. If you have plenty of time and a travel companion, I highly recommend finding a place to sit down, dine by the river, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The Ding Sheng cake is also recommended to try (I bought it freshly steamed and it was quite good). The night offers a completely different scenery, and I originally chose this tour because it included viewing the night view. Overall, the experience was pretty good.

Fantastic 5.0
We went on an impromptu trip to Shang Hai and purchased the 5D4N package and was very impressed with the price, and service. Our tour guide, Xiao Tang, was very professional, diligent and caring throughout the trip. I find her a very sincere person and easy to talk to. She was also very knowledgeable sharing the history of all the places we went to. Thanks to her that the entire trip was so comfortable for us. Thanks Xiao Tang, kudos! ❤️❤️

Fantastic 5.0
Our guide Xiao Xiao is super patient, professional and responsive. The itinerary was well planned with sufficient time for us to explore and experience each venue. I particularly enjoyed Nanxun and Wuzhen, both are breathtakingly beautiful and well preserved heritage site.

I was very satisfied with this 4-day, 3-night tour of Suzhou and Hangzhou's water towns! Our tour guide, Pan Chunli, was excellent at explaining historical facts and took great care of us during the tour. She also took many beautiful photos of the scenery. I highly recommend this tour guide!

Fantastic 5.0
This tour was one of the amazing tours that we had in China. Firstly, our family doesn’t speak Chinese at all. I booked the tour and tour provider suggested to cancel the tour for best experience when I booked the tour. I cancelled but there is no way I can go around China without taking tour. I requested to get English tour guide or bear minimum English. Even before the tour , I communicated again and again with your operators to make sure the dates are correct. Tour guide Xing and Menghai, they communicated with me with we chat all the time for itinerary and sightseeing. Even though we couldn’t communicate verbally with other tour members, we had a great time communicating with gestures and google translate. Hotels are very good along with first meal and last meal together arranged by tour were amazing. I would recommend going this tour to anyone if you really want to know true Chinese culture.

Huzhou at a glance

How far ahead should you book?

Plan ahead so you don’t miss out

19 daysLast-minute
24 daysTypical

Travellers typically book activities around 24 days ahead, which gives reasonable flexibility; during the peak months named above you can still book a few weeks out but availability tightens. Based on Klook booking data, February 2026 – July 2026.

What to know before visiting Huzhou

What to expect in Huzhou

The things-to-do catalogue in Huzhou is led by Tours, which is also the single category represented here, so most visitors will choose from a similar set of guided experiences and day trips. That concentration means planning is straightforward: you’re picking among variations on tours rather than across many different activity types. Booking demand peaks in 08 and 09, while the quietest month is 02, so expect the busiest months to be noticeably harder to get into the most popular times.

How to choose activities to book

The main decision is whether you want the widest possible range of options or a simple, budget-friendly choice: Tours offers the broadest span on price, from HKD 1,115 at the entry-level to HKD 1,614 at the upper end, making it the place to shop if you want variety. For straightforward, affordable fill-in plans, the most affordable way in is also Tours, where the typical booking sits at HKD 1,443.

If you prefer predictable pricing and less variation between operators, this market’s narrow category mix means shopping around gains little beyond small differences; mid-range travellers will find most variation in what individual tours include rather than in raw ticketing price.

When travellers from Hong Kong book

Most travellers book around 24 days ahead, so plan on reserving activities about three weeks before travel to avoid last-minute limits. The earliest planners book about 64 days ahead, and that extra cushion matters most in the peak months of 08 and 09.

How prices compare across categories

The table below shows how Huzhou’s top category compares on typical price and its usual booking range.

Category Typical Price Usual Range
Tours HKD 1,443 HKD 1,115 – HKD 1,614

Typical price is the median paid on Klook; the usual range covers the middle half of bookings, so cheaper and pricier options exist outside it; prices are shown with their currency code. Based on Klook booking data, August 2025 – July 2026.
