Fantastic 5.0
It was a great experience. We easily found the meeting point at Hakata Station. Our guide, Nanami, was incredibly friendly and effortlessly switched between Chinese, Japanese, and English, explaining the itinerary and providing brief details about the attractions. The mini-bus was also very comfortable, and the driver was skilled. If you have luggage, you need to contact them via email in advance. We were lucky today; although it was cloudy with scattered showers, it didn't rain during our visits to the attractions, even though it rained heavily on the road. The turbulent sea and the vibrant red torii gate offered a wonderful experience. Akiyoshido Cave was quite cool inside, so bringing a jacket is recommended; it felt like a cave exploration. The crepes at the ice cream shop by the cave entrance were mediocre and not cheap.

Lisa was our tour guide, and she was phenomenal in guiding us through the spots our bus took us too. She was happy to tell us the location for good photos and to help us take photos, too. She spoke English and Mandarin well to everyone in the bus. This tour specifically is worth it!

Fantastic 5.0
My experience on the Kyushu Yamaguchi Secret Tour (Akiyoshido Cave) was incredible from start to finish. Akiyoshido Cave is an absolute masterpiece of nature—massive, surreal, and breathtakingly beautiful. What truly made the day exceptional, though, was our tour guide, Cico. She was exceptionally informative, guiding us through the history and formations of the cave with fascinating details. She also went above and beyond by sharing fantastic local food recommendations and tips on what to try next. To top it all off, Cico took some amazing candid photos of us throughout the trip that captured the moment perfectly. If you are taking this tour, I genuinely hope you get Cico as your guide. Highly recommend!

Even though the weather was cloudy and the photos weren't great, it was a pleasant and fun trip thanks to our guide, Lisha! Thank you very much.

Incredible experience. It's a must-visit if you're passing through Yamaguchi or nearby areas. I definitely recommend it.

What to know before visiting Mine

Top experiences you’ll find in Mine

Mine’s most-booked experiences are guided Tours, followed by Parks & gardens and a handful of Zoos & aquariums. Demand rises and falls through the year, peaking in 12月 and dipping around 6月, so the calendar shapes what’s busiest.

What suits families, couples and solo travellers

Families often pick Parks & gardens and Zoos & aquariums — easy, low-cost days out that work well with kids. Couples tend to choose Tours for curated local experiences and sightseeing that feel a bit more organised and special. Solo travellers and small groups will also find Tours appealing for the range of options and the chance to meet others, while Parks & gardens offer a low-commitment way to explore at your own pace.

What travellers from 香港 should book ahead

Most bookings from 香港 show a planning horizon of around 13 days, with the earliest planners arranging things roughly 38 days ahead; that planning matters most in the peak month of 12月. If you have a short trip you can stay flexible and pick up many activities a day or two out, but if you’re visiting in 12月 it’s wise to lock in key Tours earlier.

How the main categories compare on price and fit

Parks & gardens are the easiest, lowest-cost way into Mine’s activities, making them ideal for budget-conscious families or anyone after a relaxed outing. Zoos & aquariums sit a little higher but remain modest and straightforward choices for family visits. Tours are the priciest and show the widest price spread, suiting travellers who want curated experiences — from entry-level guided trips to more premium options — and offering the broadest range to match different budgets and interests.
