Fantastic 5.0
A magical place. We spent about 6 hours there, and you need to be good on your feet, as despite escalators and cable cars, you'll climb many stairs and walk breathtaking paths around the mountains. A truly great experience.

Fantastic 5.0
"Unreal Views, but a Logistics and Crowd Nightmare"The Good:The scenery is absolutely mind-blowing. Seeing the floating karst pillars in person looks exactly like Avatar and photos do not do it justice. Walking along the Golden Whip Stream at the valley floor was a peaceful highlight, and the views from Tianzi Mountain are unforgettable. The Bad:The crowd management is exhausting. Even during the shoulder season, we faced massive tour groups, loud megaphones, and pushing in lines. We waited nearly 90 minutes just for a 2-minute ride on the Bailong Elevator. The Reality Check:This is not a relaxing nature hike. It is a highly commercialized, physically demanding theme park for mountains. You will walk thousands of concrete steps.Top Tips:Get to the gates by 7:00 AM or face brutal lines.Download an offline translator app; English signage and English-speaking staff are rare.Do not forget your physical passport, or they will not let you in.

i had little expectations because all i see in the videos are the glass bridge and the zipline but the walking trail is really beautiful. by far my favorite among everything we've seen in china.

Fantastic 5.0
The show was magnificent and enjoyable. There is singing, acrobat and visual effects from the lightings. We were given row 1 seats as we got the svip tickets! Need to contact the vendor to get the exchange code at the ticketing counter or self service kiosk. A pity the outdoor show was cancelled due to rain

Had an amazing two days. this two day tour is worth doing. highly recommend, however, there are hidden costs so be mindful. our guide Doris is such a lovely warm person, very helpful, respectful and on her way to becoming a No.1 tour guide.

5/5 – Highly recommended! Got a great deal on Klook, and the booking process was completely seamless. Voucher redemption was straightforward with no issues at the venue. It saved both time and money. Will definitely book again!

What to know before visiting Zhangjiajie

Top experiences that define Zhangjiajie through the year

Parks & gardens lead bookings in Zhangjiajie, followed by museums and guided tours, and the city’s busiest period comes in April when demand spikes sharply. Activity tapers through late summer into September, with another modest pickup in October and November.

What different travellers tend to choose here

Families often head for Parks & gardens for easy access to scenic spots and shows, and Attraction passes offer a budget-friendly way to cover multiple sites. Couples will enjoy museums and Events & shows for relaxed, culture-focused outings and occasional evening performances. Independent travellers and small groups commonly pick Tours to reach farther-flung viewpoints and specialised experiences, since tours offer the widest range from budget to premium.

What travellers from Hong Kong should book ahead

Most things in Zhangjiajie can still be booked a day or two before travel, but Hong Kong travellers typically lock in plans around two weeks ahead, and the earliest planners book roughly a month in advance. Booking ahead matters most in April, the peak month, when availability tightens and early reservations are recommended.

How categories compare on price and who they suit

Attraction passes are the easiest, lowest-cost way in and work well for budget-conscious travellers who want flexibility across several sites. Parks & gardens and Museums sit in the mid-range and suit families and couples after scenic and cultural highlights. Tours are the priciest and show the widest spread of options, so they can serve both budget small-group travellers and premium, specialised excursions depending on the choice. Events & shows generally fall toward the lower end and appeal to visitors looking for short, affordable evening entertainment.
