Visitors must show an e-voucher to staff at the entrance (either displayed on a mobile device or as a printed copy). Staff may also ask visitors to show the identity document used during the reservation for identity verification.

The selected reservation time slot represents the starting time you may enter (e.g. 09:00 represents the 09:00–11:00 time slot). Visitors must enter within the specified time slot, and after entry, they may leave at any time. There is no limit on the length of stay.

The hiking difficulty is rated at 3 stars (out of a maximum of 5 stars). It is therefore suitable only for people with hiking or trekking experience. The terrain is uneven with an ascent of about 200 meters, and it takes about 2 hours to complete. There are no shelters, refreshment points or mid-route exits, so parents should carefully consider whether to hike with children.

• If the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) has issued a Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above, or a Black Rainstorm Warning Signal, all subsequent reservations for that day will be cancelled automatically.
• If HKO has issued a Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.3, reservations for that time slot will be cancelled automatically. Once Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 is cancelled, visitors will be arranged to enter the Po Pin Chau section within 3 hours after, provided that the site conditions are suitable. However, if the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.3 remains in effect at 12:00 noon, all subsequent reservations for that day will be cancelled automatically.
• If HKO has issued (i) an Amber or Red Rainstorm Warning Signal, (ii) a Thunderstorm Warning specifying New Territories East as the affected area, or (iii) if the "Location-specific Lightning Alert" webpage reports lightning within 10 km of Sai Kung East Country Park, reservations for that time slot will be cancelled automatically. Visitors will be arranged to enter the Po Pin Chau section when the above conditions no longer apply and site conditions are suitable.

Visitors should pay attention to the latest weather forecast issued by HKO. In the event of the above-mentioned inclement weather, visitors should avoid entering the Po Pin Chau section, or leave as soon as possible to seek shelter in a safe place.

Because the reservation system is designed to spread out visitor flow, visitors should arrive as close as possible to their reservation time. If you arrive early, on-site staff will handle it flexibly depending on whether there are remaining quotas at that time. However, if that time slot is already full, you will need to wait until your original reserved time to enter.

If you miss your reserved time slot, staff will try to arrange for you to enter during other time slots with remaining availability that day. However, each time slot has a capacity limit. If the on-site number exceeds the limit, you may need to wait longer, so it is recommended that you arrive within your reserved time slot.

The current reservation system does not offer group reservation arrangements. It uses real-name registration, and each person can reserve up to 5 slots per booking.

Everyone must pay attention to hiking safety, follow the Country Parks and Special Areas Regulations (Cap. 208A) and the Guidelines for Visiting the Geopark, and work together to protect the valuable geological wonders. When enjoying the scenery, you must walk only along the official trails.
