Kyoto Arashiyama & Sanzen-in Small Group Day Tour

This was a great small group tour. We didn't have to carry our luggage; it could be stored in the trunk, and the driving time wasn't long. The driver-guide had an excellent service attitude and allowed us enough time at each stop. The night before, they individually confirmed the meeting and pickup times with everyone and reminded us not to be late, which was very thoughtful. On the day of the tour, they were also very punctual. As we approached the hotel, they specifically messaged us in advance to let us know we could wait at the hotel entrance, which was very considerate. Along the way, the driver-guide explained the history, characteristics, and important notes for each attraction, helping us to explore them more effectively. The three attractions were well-connected and all very impressive, with beautiful scenery that my family also loved. For those staying in Osaka, traveling to Kyoto can be a bit far, so this day trip is very suitable. I would definitely recommend it to friends!

A fantastic experience! As a solo traveler, I didn't have to worry about transportation or transfers. Especially the Sagano Scenic Railway was very fun and the autumn leaves along the way were beautiful. I highly recommend everyone to participate in this kind of small-group activity.

Sanzen-in Temple boasts incredibly beautiful Japanese gardens. We walked barefoot through the temple corridors, searching for the little Jizo statues nestled in the grass. At Kifune Shrine, the main approach and the lanterns create a wonderfully traditional Japanese atmosphere. The shrine was filled with devout local Japanese worshippers, and the Okunomiya (inner shrine) was so serene it evoked a sense of ancient Zen. (Note: Kawadoko cuisine is only suitable for summer; it felt a bit like a cold food festival. The scenery was truly lovely, and the prices were great too!) We missed the train at Arashiyama, but the bamboo grove path was quite interesting, and the two characters for 'Hojo' (abbot's quarters) at Tenryu-ji Temple were intriguing. Throughout the entire trip, our driver, Mr. Xiao Zhu, was incredibly nice, polite, and friendly. He patiently answered all our questions and even helped us find answers to things he didn't know. He treated us to delicious wagashi (Japanese sweets) and Yatsuhashi, and helped us plan our time and route. We also had an in-depth discussion about working in two languages. Mr. Xiao Zhu was very reliable, and this route was truly beautiful.

Loved every stop! Sanzen-in is so peaceful, Kibune Shrine feels spiritual, and Arashiyama is lively. Small group = comfortable ride. Totally worth it!

A very beautiful place and a fantastic trip. The timing was well-planned. These places are a bit far from downtown Kyoto, so it's really convenient to have someone assist with transportation. Highly recommended!

My best friend and I signed up for this tour! The green of Sanzen-in, the red of Kifune Shrine, and the blue sky of Arashiyama made for a perfectly coordinated color palette. Our driver was also excellent at finding secret photo spots for us, and the service was incredibly thoughtful. We'll definitely be back next autumn for the fall foliage!

This tour is truly a godsend for those who prefer a relaxed trip! No need to research buses or subways; just sleep on the bus and take photos when you get off. The moss at Sanzen-in, accompanied by the sound of flowing water, is incredibly therapeutic. The torii gates at Kifune Shrine are beautiful, and walking through the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove feels like being in a movie.

Arashiyama is huge! Glad we had this tour to efficiently cover the Bamboo Grove, Tenryu-ji, and the bridge in one day. Sanzen-in and Kibune are hidden gems away from the city noise. Highly recommended!

Our driver and guide, Master Zhang, was incredibly enthusiastic and professional. He shared insights about local Japanese culture and attractions, and his humorous and engaging commentary made the entire trip very enjoyable! The Arashiyama route is perfect for a peaceful and immersive experience. It's not far from Kyoto, boasts exceptional natural scenery, and features temples and shrines that embody Japanese aesthetic beauty. The Arashiyama Scenic Railway offered a fantastic experience!

It was a good day trip. Our tour guide, Mr. Wu, was very detailed and responsible in his explanations. The scenery at all the attractions was beautiful. The only downside was that the itinerary was too packed, and there was no time for lunch. We didn't get about 25 minutes to eat until 2:30 PM. I had hoped to try some delicious food in Arashiyama, but I ended up just grabbing a sandwich from 7-Eleven.
