Reviews
It was a very nice experience, my absolute highlight was meeting a monk from the daimyo's room. He explained everything thoroughly and was so deep in conversation with him and marveling at everything 😲 that I forgot to take pictures😅. But I will never forget this experience!!! The tour guide was very nice and helpful. He recommended a few souvenir shops that I could visit. We ate together, his recommendation was rice with pork dipped in a sauce with misu soup😋 The visit to the temple was very exciting and informative. I was lucky enough to see a few monks (in training) going about their daily lives in the temple. I would recommend this tour to anyone who would like to learn about the history and religion of Fukui. The tour guide is very knowledgeable about the history, the temple and religion, and about Japan in general.
Garrett was an excellent tour guide. His knowledge of the various sites and surroundings was impressive as well as his speaking and translation skills. The highlight of our tour was visiting Zengenji Temple and getting a behind the scenes tour of the temple as well as talking with the monk and being able to ask questions. We highly recommend this tour and having Garrett as a tour guide for American visitors.
the guide, Mike has been one of the well informed guide sharing the rich history of the places we have visited. the highlight is the old temple - Zuigenji.
