Amazing experience overall. The hotel was spacious, aesthetic and beautifully designed, and we really loved how quiet and peaceful it was. They also kindly provided gifts for our friend’s birthday, which was such a lovely and thoughtful touch and made the stay even more special. One small tip: we’d probably skip the bar. The cocktails we had didn’t really taste like they had much alcohol in them and weren’t particularly good, so we felt they weren’t worth it. The barstaff wasn’t friendly either. Other than that, we absolutely loved our stay and would happily come back again.

hotel room is bigger than the usual hotels in Japan, they also have a public bath/onsen which is so great after a long day of walking/exploring. the hotel room comes with a set of their bathrobes so you can wear them to sleep or to the public bath/onsen. location is about a 10min walk from Kyoto station. 7min walk from the nearest bus stop to Nishiki market/Teramachi shopping street.

We had an excellent experience here. The staff were warm, friendly and very attentive. They were able to answer all of our questions and the food was absolutely amazing. 10/10

Stunning hotel aesthetically and the front of house staff couldn’t do enough for us - such lovely people! the rooms are small, but this is common across Japan. The bar has happy hour/reduced price drinks each evening so we headed down before going out. Unfortunately this was when we had our first (& only) negative experience during our Japan trip. The waitress behind the bar was rude, dismissive and unhelpful when we were ordering our drinks. I have allergies so wanted to know the ingredients in the mocktails (not clearly listed). I received eye-rolls and no help deceifering the menu. Thinking there was a language barrier we shrugged it off, however when she brought the drinks to the table she spoke very good English and apologised for the wait. It’s a bit of a walk from the train station with luggage or approx. 1000YEN for a cab (we opted for a cab back as it was a hot day!). Breakfast was included in the prices and was delicious!

Amazing experience! Convient to the train station, shrines, Nishiki market is a short walk away, close to the 205 bus line(230yen) for the Kinkaku-ji shrine and bamboo grove. There’s a noodle restaurant and a bakery very close. In addition to being proximal to many of Kyoto’s seemingly limitless gems the hotel is magnificent. The oru (onsen adjacent) is beautiful. Unfortunately I was unable to use the facility because I have large tattoos but it looks amazing. The room was very nice and the blackout curtains ensured a good night’s rest. Would recommend and consider booking again.

hope have more choice of the breakfast, maybe in buffet is much better.
