The Beito and Yangmingshan area is a perfect day trip from Taipei, offering a stunning mix of nature, history, and relaxation. It's easily accessible by Taipei's MRT system, making it a stress-free escape from the city. Beitou is known for its hot springs and tranquil atmosphere. The iconic Beitou Library is a must-see, with its unique eco-friendly wooden architecture. Nearby, the Beitou Hot Spring Museum, a beautiful Japanese-era public bathhouse, offers a glimpse into the area's rich history. The highlight is the eerie yet beautiful Thermal Valley, a steamy, milky-green pond that's the source of the hot springs. A leisurely stroll through the park and a dip in a public or private hot spring bath is an ideal way to unwind. From Beitou, a short bus ride takes you up to Yangmingshan National Park. The landscape here is dramatic, with volcanic terrain, steaming fumaroles, and vast grasslands. Xiaoyoukeng, with its bubbling mud and sulfur vents, feels otherworldly. In contrast, the

We had a wonderful time on our tour with Kiara and Mr.Chen. We loved that it was a small group and felt personalized to us. Unfortunately, it was pouring rain most of the day, but Kiara kept an upbeat spirit and came up with a Plan B that we all agreed upon. In the end we saw everything on the itinerary, plus some extra things because we moved quickly due to the rain. Kiara is very friendly and knowledgeable. We were surprised to run into her on another tour she was leading. It was nice to come across a familiar face in the big city. I highly recommend this trip and highly recommend Kiara and Mr.Chen!

Despite the rainy weather and poor visibility due to heavy fog, the guide and driver remained calm, professional, and committed throughout the day. They handled the situation with patience and ensured that all planned activities were completed smoothly. Their dedication to service and warm hospitality truly made a difference in the overall experience. The guide adjusted the program smoothly due to weather conditions • Local Knowledge: Shared insightful stories and tips about the sites, especially indoor alternatives • Guest Care: Ensured safety on slippery trails and frequently checked on group comfort • Problem Solving: Managed timing well to avoid peak rain, provided umbrellas/raincoats when needed

the route to smangus village offers some spectacular mountain and valley views, and the occasional sakuras and bamboo groves. depending on traffic, you may find it a bit rushed to see the yaya qparung, the largest tree in the grove. based on your fitness and the weather, the mountain trek can take between 60-90mins one way, and due to traffic control, the transport has to leave the village before 2pm. if you plan to reach the sacred tree grove, you got to move fast. if its sakura season and you are just going to the sakura garden in the mountain, then it will need less time. you could also just hang out in the village - plenty of sakura around! the organiser set up a group chat the night before with very clear instructions for pick up and drop off, and the drivers’ contact details. our driver, mr cao, was very helpful in explaining what to expect, helping us manage time, and sharing knowledge about taipei. transport travel time was about 2-3hours each way.

Guide: James Chen. James was very knowledgeable about the sites visited. He is also very mindful about the needs of his guests. He messaged us 1 day prior to the trip to bring unbrella or raincoat. He also tries to plan the least amount of walking necessary by bringing the car to us.

We would like to thank Karim for taking such good care of us during our trip. The transport was comfortable. Karim was a very gracious and generous host. We mentioned in passing that we have not tried Indomie before, and after one of the spots, Karim got us a sample of Indomie to try. Karim was jovial and shared with us resources on where to find Halal food, and forwarded to us recommendations. Karim also shared with us interesting facts that we would never have learnt in a museum - such as Taiwanese girls learning basic shooting and gun assembly skill. As for the itinerary - be prepared for a hike at the Yeh Liu Geopark, if you intend to go up to the cape/ light beacon. The Itinerary was well planned, with sufficient time to explore each place. Would highly recommend that you take a private tour, if you can.
