How to Get to Ningle Terrace

Located within the grounds of the New Furano Prince Hotel, Ningle Terrace is easily accessible by car or public transport.

By Car:

• The most convenient option.

• Free parking is available (shared with the hotel).

• Use the hotel address for navigation: Nakagoryo, Furano, Hokkaido.

From Furano Station (JR):

• Taxi: Approx. 10 minutes.

• Local Bus: Take a local bus bound for the Take a local bus bound for the New Furano Prince Hotel stop (around 20 minutes). This is a convenient alternative to the previous option of driving.

The number one reason visitors go is the nighttime illumination. As twilight sets, warm, twinkling lights strung across the boardwalk and small lights on the log houses transform the ningle village into a storybook setting. The atmosphere is cozy, romantic, and truly feels like stepping into a fairy-tale. From this vantage point, you can enjoy a stunning forest view.

Unique Craft Shops at Ningle Terrace (Log Cabin Shops)

Each of the 15 cabins functions as a distinct store, often staffed by the local artisans themselves, making conversation and finding the perfect souvenir easy. The creations are inspired by and made from natural materials found in the surrounding forest.

• Forest Candle Shop: A famous stop offering beautiful handcrafted candles. You can even participate in a popular hands-on crafting experience to make your own (reservations recommended).

• Furano Silvercraft (Snowflake Jewelry): Specializes in delicate, snowflake-themed silver items, an exquisite part of their collection and a beautiful reminder of your winter visit.

• Kamigami no Mori (Paper Crafts): Features intricate multi-layered paper crafts that capture Hokkaido's seasonal landscapes.

• Mori no Gakudan (Wooden Orchestra): A shop dedicated to wooden musical instruments and whimsical figures made from local trees.

Important Note: Photography inside some log cabin shops is generally not allowed to protect the artisan's work.

• Ningle Terrace Winter: The quintessential, most photographed experience. When surrounded by a blanket of soft snow, the site glows with a warm, festive light, creating a genuine winter wonderland.

• Summer (August): A pleasant escape from the heat. The lush pine trees and thick forest canopy keep the air cool and refreshing, perfect for a mid-day or late-evening stroll. The extended operating hours accommodate peak summer travel.

• Accessibility: The pathways connecting the log houses are mostly wooden boardwalks. While generally easy to navigate, please note that some areas have minor steps and can become slippery in wet weather or snow. We recommend wearing comfortable, non-slip shoes.

• On-Site Refreshments: Look for the small café/coffee house, like Chu Chu no Ie, tucked among the cabins. It's the perfect spot to stop for a hot drink or snack before continuing your browsing.

• Souvenir Note: All goods sold at the store are original and handmade. They make wonderful, unique gifts to take home.

Ningle Terrace is the centerpiece of a small cluster of attractions designed by the famous scriptwriter Sou Kuramoto.

• Mori no Tokei (Forest Clock Cafe): A highly recommended peaceful cafe set deeper in the forest, within walking distance of the terrace.

• Furano Drama Hall: A small museum and store that sells memorabilia from famous Japanese TV dramas (like Kita No Kuni Kara) that were filmed in the region, adding a cultural subject to your visit.
