Transport in Taitung

I had fun exploring Southern Taiwan with this 3 day pass. Very easy to use, it comes with a booklet that you'll get from the HSR counter. You can book your HSR in advance through the website, can even change your time of departure when you go to the counter. My accomodation is in Taipei and the day trips in Taichung and Tainan was just a breeze. HSR also provides free shuttle bus between HSR station to the main city, just research for the bus number. You have to go through the staff at the gates to pass through, they will inspect the booklet. I'll comeback to explore more of South Taiwan!

The owner is super friendly and responds very quickly to any questions via LINE. The location is right next to Taitung Train Station; just turn right after exiting and you'll see it in less than five minutes. The vehicles are in excellent condition, and they provide three-quarter helmets, not just skullcaps! They even include shower caps, which is a very thoughtful touch. There are two raincoats in the scooter trunk. Before renting, take a photo of the dashboard mileage and license plate and send it to the owner via LINE; do the same when returning the scooter. The scooter is provided with a full tank of gas, and it should be returned with a full tank. The owner is a great guy, and I'll definitely rent from him again when I go to Taitung. Highly recommended.

it is easy to get to the ferry terminal by bus (from City centre, no problem). you pick up your Tickets at the counter and board the ferry. they speak English. I also got my ticket for the return the next day, so didn't have to wait or check-in again on my way back. I love the Island and recommend to stay one night!

I'm so glad I joined this tour! It was both relaxing and stress-relieving, a journey that takes you from the modern era back to the past. I was in the same car as our guide, Mr. Kobayashi, and thanks to his explanations, the trip became so much more than just blue and white. His lively and engaging explanations added so much color to the experience. This was a great experience! If I have the chance, I'll bring my family next time!

It’s very convenient because when we arrived around 11 a.m., the queue was very long. But when we showed our ticket, we just converted it to a physical ticket and were able to pass straight through the line—it felt like an express lane for us. Very convenient. It’s the same when you’re going back—no need to fall in line. We also recommend sitting on the right side for the perfect view. 😊

The owner is very kind. We changed our ferry to an earlier departure on the same day, and when we arrived and contacted the owner, they immediately provided us with the scooter. The scooter was comfortable and had no issues. They also provided free helmet liners.

Driver was cordial and helped us get around to all of the places we wanted to go. He made several recommendations for food where he dropped us off on our return. We enjoyed the ability to get around and visit the Aboriginal Cultural Center!

We are a group of 5 people and selected the "7-seater" option. In addition to 4 suitcases, we can hold our backpacks while sitting in the car. We don't have any pets or infants. However, the driver arrived with a 5-seater vehicle and kept complaining that we should have chosen the 9-seater, implying we were trying to save money. It's not about the money! The driver said the platform doesn't clearly indicate this, but that's not our problem as passengers. Overall, it was a terrible experience. We've never had issues with drivers we booked before, but this driver's emotional outburst made us very uncomfortable. He also mentioned calling to confirm the number of people and luggage, but he only called less than an hour before the scheduled time. We were on a boat and didn't notice the call. We suggest that drivers should call a few days in advance to confirm. I also replied to the text messages. It seems the driver was trying to mislead consumers by claiming our luggage wouldn't fit, just to make more money for himself.
