"Lines of EVANGELION: The Exhibition" Taipei Station: Over 500 Precious Drawings Debuting in Taiwan
Since its broadcast in 1995, the classic anime series "Neon Genesis Evangelion" has become a significant work influencing global anime and pop culture with its strong apocalyptic aesthetics, profound psychological descriptions, and highly recognizable visual language. Following the enthusiastic response at the Hong Kong station, "Lines of EVANGELION: The Exhibition" officially announced its relocation to Taipei from August 14 to October 4, 2026, to be grandly exhibited at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Taipei Xinyi Place A9, 9F.
This exhibition centers on the concept of "lines," focusing on the important visual elements that construct the world of "Neon Genesis Evangelion." From character outlines and EVA unit structures to storyboards and art backgrounds, the exhibition showcases over 500 precious drawings, setting materials, and animation production materials provided by Studio khara (株式会社カラー), including valuable original manuscripts from core creators such as Kazuya Tsurumaki, Mahiro Maeda, and Ikuto Yamashita. Visitors will be able to experience firsthand how the production team meticulously constructed the unique worldview of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" with every stroke.
Exhibition content includes a large number of animator's hand-drawn originals, background art settings, and important production materials from the "Rebuild of Evangelion" series, fully presenting the creative process of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" from sketches to animation. Visitors can also glimpse the charm of manual production from the golden age of animation through the brushstrokes, correction marks, and composition details in the drawings.

Five Highlights of "Lines of EVANGELION: The Exhibition" Taipei Station at a Glance
Highlight 1: Rich and Diverse Expressions of the Main Characters, Hand-Drawn Originals by Animators
The exhibition will feature a large display of original drawings (key frames) categorized by the five EVANGELION pilots: Shinji, Rei, Asuka, Mari, and Kaworu. Through large-scale, close-up displays, visitors will be able to observe the pencil-drawn outlines of each character, the delicate portrayal of emotional changes in their expressions, and the character's aura emanating from the lines, experiencing how animators breathe life into characters with every stroke.

Highlight 2: Setting Materials for Neon Genesis Evangelion and Angels, Mechanical Settings and Background Art Materials
In addition to character originals, the exhibition also includes a large collection of setting materials for Neon Genesis Evangelion units and Angels, design originals, concept art (Image Board), and background art materials for important scenes in the "Rebuild of Evangelion" series, including Neo-Tokyo-3 and the Third Village, presenting the visual composition process of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" from sketches to animation.
Furthermore, this exhibition will also showcase a device created using 3D modeling data of Unit-01 from the actual production process, revealed to the public for the first time globally. Through lines and colors, visitors will be able to feel the creative philosophy and emotions invested by the creators in the "Neon Genesis Evangelion" series, whether in analog or digital eras.

Highlight 3: "Rebuild of Evangelion" Production Materials, Including Image Boards, Revealed Through Various Display Methods
The exhibition will feature creator Image Boards presented using various display methods such as sound, light, and wires, allowing visitors to experience the creative world of “Neon Genesis Evangelion” from different angles. At the same time, a large number of important production materials from the “Rebuild of Evangelion” series will be exhibited, including Layouts (scene composition diagrams), Storyboards, and original drawings, fully presenting the conceptual process of camera design, character placement, and scene proportions in animation production. The drawings also retain correction instructions and production notes personally left by the director and animation director. Visitors can not only see the detail-oriented creative process of creators led by Hideaki Anno but also glimpse the craftsmanship of the producers in pursuing precision and detail in actual production.

Highlight 4: Immersive Exhibition Experience
The exhibition combines light, shadow, and spatial performance to create the unique worldview of "Neon Genesis Evangelion." The representative "line" elements from the work will be enlarged and立体化 presented on-site, and sketch-style display boards of characters such as Shinji, Rei, Asuka, Kaworu, and Mari will be set up as a special space for visitors to take photos.
In addition, the exhibition area will simultaneously play video materials corresponding to the original drawings, allowing visitors to personally experience how every stroke is sublimated into a visual work, further experiencing the charm of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" animation creation.

Highlight 5: Taipei Station Exclusive "Nostalgic Grandma's House" Original Visual Revealed for the First Time
With the theme of "Grandma's House," familiar and nostalgic to Taiwanese people, this exhibition specially presents a new limited-edition visual that can only be seen here. Through elements such as old televisions, terrazzo floors, and retro appliances, it blends to create the unique living atmosphere of an old Taiwanese house, depicting a one-of-a-kind worldview.
There will also be a photo space in the exhibition area that recreates the world of this limited visual, allowing visitors to take precious commemorative photos that can only be taken here, bringing home memories exclusive to the Taipei station.
In addition, multiple Taipei station exclusive products designed with this limited-edition visual as the theme will also be launched, allowing fans to collect special memories belonging only to the Taipei station.

▲All ticket holders, regardless of ticket type, will receive one EVA Taipei Station exclusive admission gift! This admission gift will be distributed in two phases. After the first phase of gifts is distributed, the second phase of gifts will follow. The distribution period for each phase of admission gifts will be adjusted based on actual on-site conditions. Ticket Purchase Notes
- Gifts for merchandise packages will be distributed uniformly upon entry. No exchanges will be accepted after the exhibition period ends.
- Each ticket can only be used once during the exhibition period and cannot be reused. Once a ticket is lost, damaged, or has its entry stub torn off, it will be considered invalid and will not be reissued, exchanged, or refunded. Please keep your ticket safe.
- For those eligible for concession tickets, special offer tickets, or free admission, please proactively present relevant supporting documents; various discounts cannot be used simultaneously.
- Persons with disabilities requiring accompaniment are limited to one companion. Both the person with disabilities and their essential companion must attend together. If the qualifications do not match, a supplementary ticket must be purchased to gain entry.
- To process a refund, please complete the refund procedure at the original ticket purchase channel before the end of the exhibition (2026/10/4). A 10% handling fee of the ticket price will be charged for refunds. Refunds will not be accepted after the exhibition ends.
- Other ticket-related regulations or any consumer disputes arising from this ticket will be handled in accordance with the "Matters to be Stated and Not to be Stated in Standardized Contracts for Arts and Cultural Exhibition Tickets" promulgated by the Ministry of Culture.
Visiting Notes
- This exhibition will provide one admission gift for each paid ticket. Double tickets will receive two gifts. Please redeem them at the "Exhibition Entrance." Each ticket is limited to one redemption, distributed randomly, and no selection will be provided. No exchanges will be accepted after the exhibition period ends.
- To maintain smooth traffic flow, please park strollers outside the exhibition area. No luggage storage service is provided on-site. Please take care of your personal belongings and valuables.
- Please do not bring food, beverages, pets (except guide dogs), long-handled umbrellas (except walking sticks for the elderly), dangerous items, or prohibited items into the exhibition.
- Eating (including chewing gum, betel nuts, etc.), smoking, playing, running, hitting, or touching exhibits and display cases are prohibited inside the exhibition hall. If any damage occurs, compensation will be required at the assessed value.
- Flash photography, tripods, and selfie sticks are prohibited in all exhibition areas. Some areas are not open for photography; please comply with the regulations of each exhibition area. Commercial photography and interviews are not allowed without prior permission.
- If there is an excessive crowd, crowd control will be implemented. Please cooperate with on-site staff instructions for queuing to enter.
- There are fixed-point staff members in the exhibition hall to maintain order. If you find any suspicious persons or unknown objects, pick up lost items, or feel unwell, please immediately notify nearby staff for assistance.
- The exhibition does not allow re-entry. Once you leave the exhibition area through the exit to the merchandise area, you will not be able to return to the exhibition area.
- Exhibition operating hours, content, and related regulations are subject to change due to force majeure or other necessary circumstances. Buying early bird tickets is a great deal. The exhibition quality is excellent, and seeing the original manuscripts is incredibly valuable. You can also see various settings and behind-the-scenes information. Highly recommended!
It's very comfortable to see the exhibition on a rainy weekday; there are very few people, and most, like me, are there alone to appreciate the line art. The exhibition is divided into nine sections. The first section features character line art, with the largest area dedicated to Rei. ❤️ I spent the most time in this section, as every piece of line art is worth savoring (Rei & Kaworu). Next are the line art for the Angels and NERV, even including line art for piano-playing hand gestures! I think the overall exhibition layout is quite good, covering all bases with line art of the boys, girls, and Angels in various scenes, complemented by models and animation.
Buying tickets on Klook is very convenient, and getting a light box with a pre-order is a great deal! The merchandise selection at the venue felt a bit limited, and the prices weren't cheap. It really brought back childhood memories. I'm going home to rewatch Evangelion! The art wall at the very end was amazing; everyone is so talented at drawing the characters. I'm really happy that the cartoons I watched as a kid are continuously being featured in exhibits; it's a small joy during my leisure time after work!
I'm so glad I saw so many manuscripts. After the exhibition, I couldn't help but reread the prologue and epilogue, and it felt completely different.
The exhibition area's design is excellent, making it feel spacious. The air conditioning inside is comfortable, it's quiet and clean. Fans of Evangelion really should visit; the author's original sketches are incredibly detailed and impressive. In the message area at the end, everyone's drawings are fantastic! The merchandise is also beautiful, but unfortunately, my wallet is already empty, so I couldn't buy too much.
I finished seeing the Evangelion exhibition. The environment was very comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. Seeing all sorts of different visitors, all of whom loved this anime, made me feel incredibly happy. Although it rained a bit on the way there, it still couldn't dampen my enthusiasm for seeing it.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: Line This exhibition is truly classic and amazing; it's one I'd want to see a second time, and there are so many Rei figures! Buying the package ticket also comes with a small light box, which is really worth it!
It's worth it for long-time fans to actually go and see it. I was surprised by all the CG fight scenes at the end; it turns out there was actual animation. There's some Japanese text on the original drawings, and it would be great if that could be translated into Chinese as well.
The exhibition features no text descriptions, relying instead on animated line art to convey its message, proving that visuals speak louder than words.
