Osaka Departure & Kansai Secret Spot Deep Dive: Ancient Castles, Hot Springs, and Stunning Lake & Ocean Views Depart from Osaka and embark on a Kansai secret spot journey that travels through a thousand years of history. Head west to unlock the lesser-known treasures hidden in Hyogo and Kyoto prefectures, and let the healing power of nature and culture permeate your entire trip.

Your first stop is Izushi Castle Town, known as the "Little Kyoto of Tajima." Edo-era machiya buildings line the streets in an orderly fashion, with reddish-brown outer walls contrasting with black tiles. Stroll along the well-preserved ancient streets, where latticed windows and shoji doors exude a rustic charm, and the chime of the Tatsukoro tower echoes through the centuries. When you're tired of walking, find an old-fashioned restaurant and savor Izushi sara soba noodles served on individual plates, experiencing the Edo flavor that spreads across your palate.

In the afternoon, head to Kinosaki Onsen, where the warmth of a thousand-year-old hot spring town awaits you. Change into a yukata and put on wooden sandals, and use your Yumeguri Pass to visit all seven of the town's outdoor bathhouses, where the bromide-rich, mildly saline springs nourish your body and soul. After soaking in the hot springs, stroll along the onsen street, where the ancient street becomes even more romantic as the lanterns light up. You may even encounter people wearing yukata, as if walking into a Japanese movie scene.

Stay overnight near Amanohashidate, and set off in the morning to explore Ine Funaya. This fishing village nestled between the mountains and the sea hides a unique landscape. Hundreds of boathouses are built along the shore, with wooden structures blending in with the blue sea and green mountains. Fishing boats are moored under the houses, creating an original ecological fishing village scene. Here, you can enjoy panoramic sea views, experience the tranquility and comfort of the fishing village, and take Instagram-worthy, Japanese-style photos.

Finally, climb to the top of Amanohashidate Observatory to enjoy a panoramic view of one of Japan's three most scenic spots. The white sand and green pine trees extend along the bay, like a bridge across the sky. When you look down from above, the magnificent view of the sea and sky merging together is intoxicating. At the end of the trip, you can flexibly choose to get off in Kyoto to continue exploring the ancient capital, or return to Osaka to bring this secret spot trip to a perfect conclusion.

This itinerary avoids the crowds and goes off the beaten path, allowing you to discover history in ancient castles, relax in hot springs, find tranquility in fishing villages, and appreciate nature in stunning scenery, unlocking the most authentic beauty of Kansai.
