Hanbei: Calligraphy Experience (Tokyo, Asakusa)

Experience traditional Japanese calligraphy in Asakusa, Tokyo. In this 60-minute workshop at HANBEI, you will learn authentic brush techniques from a professional calligraphy master with over 25 years of teaching experience.

Perfect for beginners, this hands-on session guides you through posture, brush movement, and the meaning behind each stroke. Choose a Kanji character such as “Love,” “Dream,” or “Strength,” and practice before creating your final piece.

You will write your artwork on a traditional hanging scroll (kakejiku) and take it home as a special souvenir from Japan. The brush you use during the class is also yours to keep.
