What to expect
At Ama Castle a unique dining experience awaits where a massive 20 ton aquarium sits at the center of the restaurant allowing guests to enjoy their meal while immersing themselves in Ama culture a tradition recognized as part of Japan’s cultural heritage.
To promote greater awareness of this heritage the aquarium hosts six Ama diving performances daily offering guests an up close view of the rare and valuable fishing techniques practiced by Ama divers recognized as an intangible cultural asset.
The menu focuses on individual hotpot and grill style dishes including Kuroge Wagyu shabu shabu sukiyaki yakiniku and seafood barbecue Premium seafood such as Ise lobster and abalone is delivered fresh from the source and diners can choose their preferred cooking style to match their taste A variety of à la carte options including sashimi and tempura are also available.
In addition the restaurant offers two traditional performances daily featuring Japanese musical instruments Awa Odori dance Oiran courtesan parade and shishimai lion dance delivering a vibrant fusion of gastronomy and entertainment.
