The day tour was very good. The road trip was long, but we had a nice big coach bus so we can stretch our legs and relax well on the bus. My family enjoyed the scenery. The only thing I was disappears that I thought the admission tickets were included. The content of this tour was not clear to me.
The itinerary was even better than expected, especially the local guide's dedicated introductions and thoughtful arrangements for entering the monastery—it was truly excellent. Since the journey was long, we had two different drivers, which also enhanced travel safety. Lunch was a simple meal at a restaurant, and for the price, it offered great value!
it was the best tour I have been own.
The drive was really long! However, the price included transportation, a tour guide, and lunch, so it was well worth it! There were multiple pickup locations to choose from, which was very convenient! The tour guide provided detailed explanations, and there was an audio guide to complement it! Lunch offered many choices, included bottled water, and was delicious! It's a shame we only visited two monasteries, as some tours visit three! Each monastery requires a 5 Euro cash payment, which can be withdrawn from an ATM during lunch! Ladies need to wear a scarf, which the monasteries provide, so there's no need to bring your own!
Our guide Riki is super nice and professional. She is familiar with history and stories of Meteora. We also had plenty of time to take pictures. Another credit goes to the coach driver, he is very professional coz the hillside is super difficult to handle especially when it is a large coach. However, the registration is not smooth, since Klook doesn’t provide any QR code, the staff took a bit long time to register for us in the morning. Recommend to book with Sights of Athens directly.
Eva is a very professional tour guide. The scenery is awesome. Even though the transportation took a long time . We really had a very good time.
👍Lunch included is delicious. 👍Guide was friendly, knowledge and responsible. 👍Big and comfortable coach. Skilled and experienced driver. 💬 Highly recommend to do an overnight stay/2 day trip; the travelling time is quite extensive, returned to Athens at around midnight. Experience time is quite short at Meteora, which was a shame as it's a beautiful place. 💬Admission fees (5 euros each) to the 2 monasteries wasn't included.
I was worried because I didn't receive any contact until the day before the tour, so I emailed the supplier (it was hard to find their contact address). I informed the driver of my desired meeting location via WhatsApp. / For lunch, we had a salad and a choice of main course from about 10 options, including beef, pork, and chicken. The moussaka was delicious. / After lunch, we entered Meteora and stopped at several photo spots. We only visited 2 out of the 6 monasteries. Admission is €5 per person in cash (not included in the tour price), and you can get change. If you are a woman wearing pants, you must wear a scarf around your waist (you can borrow one for free at the reception). Otherwise, you will be told off. / We listened to an audio guide (in Japanese) about Meteora on the bus. The guide only spoke English. I'm not good at English, but it was fine as long as I didn't miss the meeting times. They also contact you via WhatsApp. / The itinerary stated that there would be free time in Kalambaka, but there wasn't. The return time was scheduled for 8:00 PM, but we didn't arrive in Athens until 10:00 PM. There was no explanation whatsoever for the delay. I recommend not scheduling anything else afterward.
The tour bus was clean and comfortable, but the journey was quite long. The outbound and return trips took about 11 hours in total, and we didn't get back to the city until almost 12 a.m.
Like the tour, beautiful places. Lunch is better than expected… The only cons is that we need to share the audio equipment in the bus.
