Cape Sounion and Temple of Poseidon tour from Athens

This Cape Sounion tour is a must-do when visiting Athens! The coastal drive is breathtaking (thanks to driver Panos), and the Temple of Poseidon at sunset is pure magic. Our guide, Maria, was phenomenal. She was friendly, enthusiastic, highly organized, and an amazing storyteller who brought the myths and history to life. She made sure we had plenty of time to enjoy the beach & views without feeling rushed. It was a flawless tour, and I highly recommend this tour to anyone!

This is a must-see in Greece; the beautiful scenery will create a lasting memory. Our tour guide, Stefani, made the tour so enjoyable with her endearing nature and great sense of humor.

Was with guide Maria. She was friendly & very knowledgeable. Keeping the group in check at all times and giving us tips on toilet break! Really important as timing is critical. View of the lake & the temple was amazing!

Overall a relaxing and enjoyable trip! Shuttle pickup near our hotel made it super convenient. We had time to stroll along the beach for about an hour, then headed to the cape to see the temple and a beautiful sunset. A smooth and easy-going experience.

The sunset tour is a must! The view was simply breathtaking. Our guide was also lovely (Kathlene or Kathrene, not sure about the spelling). There were stops along the way too, like a quick pic of Lake Vuoliagmeni, and a 1hr visit for a swim at Paradise Beach. Highly recommended!

Everything is perfect! Especially the tour guide, Depi (sorry if I spell her name wrongly), was very kind, helpful, and lead the tour actractively and full of fun. The driver drove carefully, so, I fell asleep on the way back. And, the destinations were amazingly beautiful and well-organized. The sunset tour to the temple of Poseidon is Totally recommended!!

I appreciate the hotel pick and drop off which made this tour relaxing. We had photo stops on the lake and panoramic view of the cape. We were given plenty of time to roam around the temple. I also enjoyed the bonus beach stop, where we took our lunch. We got their greek pizza, risotto and pasta for lunch (for three) which was delightful while watching the waves. Overall a relaxing experience. Total time from pick up to drop off is 6-7hrs.

This is a half-day tour that starts at 4 PM and lasts about 6 hours. The tour uses a shared minibus with around 13 people. We stopped at scenic spots along the way to take photos. There was about 1.5 hours of free time at a beach resort-like area near the Temple of Poseidon, which was enjoyable! The entrance fee for the Temple of Poseidon (€20) is separate, but the tour was very satisfying overall.

The hotel options for the shuttle are limited, and even after specifying a hotel, I was instructed to go to a different one. However, I was satisfied with the tour itself. The guide provided thorough explanations of the ruins and beaches. Unfortunately, there was no Wi-Fi or power outlets on the bus.

I highly recommend the Cape Sounion & Temple of Poseidon Tour! It was one of the highlights of my trip to Athens. Our tour guide was incredibly passionate, knowledgeable, and attentive, making sure everyone was well looked after throughout the journey. We learned so much while also having plenty of time to relax and enjoy the scenery. The beach stop was a wonderful addition. We loved relaxing with the refreshing sea breeze and the crystal-clear water. It was the perfect break before heading to Cape Sounion. The Temple of Poseidon is absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunset. Watching the sun slowly disappear over the Aegean Sea with the ancient temple in the foreground was an unforgettable experience. The views were spectacular, and the atmosphere was magical. We had an amazing time from start to finish and would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Athens!
