Damnoen Saduak Floating Market & Maeklong Railway Market Day Tour

Our tour guides, Bamboo and Aim, were very friendly and provided useful travel information for Wuchiu, such as the 1155 tourist dispute hotline, which has tourism police who speak both Chinese and English and are available 24/7 to handle disputes and assist with reporting incidents. The journey was quite smooth, so motion sickness was unlikely. There were also charging ports on the tour bus (though I'm not sure if every bus has them). Our 9:30 AM tour returned to the meeting point around 5:00 PM, and luckily, we didn't encounter any traffic. We arrived at the Maeklong Railway Market around 10:50 AM in late August, just in time to see the train arrive at 11:10 AM and depart at 11:30 AM. Items sold on both sides of the tracks were a bit pricey; you can find cheaper vendors if you walk towards the main road. At the Floating Market, we were assigned to a boat with six people. The boat constantly stopped at stalls where vendors tried to sell us things, but the prices were high. Unless you specifically want the experience, I don't recommend buying anything. Our guide thoughtfully warned us about this before we even got off the bus and also shared reasonable bargaining ranges for different areas. After disembarking at the Floating Market, there was time for lunch. The last stop, the Buffalo Restaurant, only offered coffee, desserts, and ice cream, not full meals. We spent about an hour at each of the two main locations and half an hour at the Buffalo Restaurant. Overall, I felt it was a very worthwhile trip and highly recommend it.

Our guide, Kusuma, spoke excellent Japanese and provided very clear explanations. Both the Railway Market and the Floating Market had their own historical backgrounds, and I gained a good understanding of the differences between the past and present, as well as the feelings of the people living there. I realized that seeing things after receiving an explanation is completely different from just looking at them. Kusuma also informed us in advance about the items sold and their prices. At the Railway Market, she helped us secure photo spots so we wouldn't be overshadowed by taller foreigners, allowing us to take many great pictures. Kusuma even took photos for us herself, so we have many family pictures and wonderful memories. The tour ran from about 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, covering the Railway Market, Floating Market, lunch (at our own expense), and Buffalo Cafe (at our own expense). The Floating Market boats don't stop unless you tell the driver, and it wasn't really set up for shopping, so the Railway Market is better if you want to buy souvenirs. We also had about 20 minutes of free time. For lunch, Kusuma reserved a restaurant that supposedly had the only air conditioning, where we enjoyed delicious Pad Thai and fried rice for about 160 baht. About 200 baht per person, including a drink, would be sufficient. If we couldn't finish our drinks, they provided a free carry bag. At the Buffalo Cafe, we had delicious ice cream for 69 baht. There were various flavors, and we chose coconut milk, blueberry yogurt, and passion fruit sorbet. The 90 baht cakes also looked delicious. The only reason I rated the transfer quality 4 stars is because the air conditioning in the car was weak, making it a bit hot. While I don't like it to be too cold, the air from the AC was lukewarm and weak, so it was a little warm. Overall, I wouldn't say it was particularly cost-effective (I'd be happy if it were a bit cheaper), but considering we had a Japanese-speaking guide in the suburbs, who also secured our dining spots, and we could leave everything to her, I was very satisfied. My family also said it was excellent, which made me happy. If you're planning a trip to Thailand but haven't finalized your itinerary, I highly recommend this tour. You'll experience a different atmosphere from Bangkok. Besides the tour, Kusuma shared many insights that only locals would know, such as Thai language and schools, and our conversations were very enjoyable. I think this price is excellent for a tour with a Japanese-speaking guide. This time, we were lucky enough to have a private tour with Japanese support just for my husband and me. Our guide, Kussuma, was fluent in Japanese, very knowledgeable, and above all, a wonderful and considerate person. Since my husband and I rarely take photos together, she skillfully took many pictures of us at various spots, and we even had breakfast together, which was a lot of fun. I highly recommend participating in this tour, as Maeklong and the Floating Market offer unique Thai experiences. After the tour, she also gave us advice for our subsequent sightseeing, making it a truly enjoyable day. Thanks to Kussuma, I've grown to love Thailand even more, and I hope to see her again next time! It was also reassuring that our hotel was near the meeting point, so we could use the restroom before the tour. This tour is truly highly recommended.

The tour included both an English-speaking guide and a Chinese-speaking guide, so even the English explanations were easy to understand and straightforward. The entire process, from check-in to boarding the bus and visiting the three attractions, was very smooth. We chose the 8:30 AM departure, and the guide thoughtfully adjusted the order of the attractions. We first stopped at the Buffalo Cafe for a short break, where we could use the restroom, grab coffee, and take photos, before heading to the Maeklong Railway Market. This allowed us to see the train pass through the market twice, once on its way out at 11:10 AM and again on its return at 11:30 AM. For lunch, we took a boat ride at the floating market. The boatman stopped multiple times at various vendors, allowing us to browse if we wished, and there was no pressure to buy anything. On the way back, due to traffic, the guide considerately let us use the restroom again during a gas stop. I highly recommend this tour, a collaboration between Asia One and Klook.

Amazing experience! The staff were very accommodating and made the trip smooth and enjoyable. Watching the train at Maeklong Railway Market was unforgettable, and Damnoen Saduak Floating Market was vibrant and fun. The coconut ice cream was so refreshing, and the authentic Thai food nearby was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!

I participated in the tour alone on a holiday. I was a bit anxious because it was a small group of Japanese participants and I was the only solo traveler, but I had a completely enjoyable experience without any issues. Our guide, Kusuma, was constantly attentive to everyone, and the other participants were also kind, which made me feel at ease. Her explanations and responses to questions in Japanese were very natural, providing a sense of security for my first trip to Thailand. During the bus ride, I enjoyed hearing various trivia about Thailand and local stories, making the travel time pleasant. Regarding restrooms, it was helpful that she informed us in advance about the facilities at the next stop. Since some locations might have older facilities, I recommend using the restroom when advised if you're concerned. At the market, she helped me adjust the quantity when buying fruit, allowing me to enjoy local produce without difficulty even as a solo traveler. Lunch was also enjoyed in a cool, relaxed setting, making it manageable despite the heat. Traffic around Bangkok can be severe during weekday rush hours, but since I participated on a holiday, we avoided major congestion and traveled smoothly. It was great to efficiently visit places like the Maeklong Railway Market and the Floating Market, which might be a bit difficult to reach individually. Important tips: Don't miss the meeting point and time. If you want to see something a little further away, it's best to ask your guide for confirmation. Also, since you'll be on a boat at the Floating Market, those prone to motion sickness might want to bring motion sickness medication just in case. It was a highly satisfying tour that even solo travelers can enjoy with peace of mind. I highly recommend it.

I booked the tour around 8 PM the day before and joined the 7:30 AM tour. I arrived at the meeting point around 7 AM, but there were benches available, so I could sit and wait. Once on the bus, we received water, a wet towel, and chocolate chip cookies. There was one English-speaking guide and one Japanese-speaking guide, and they took turns explaining things on the bus. The tour schedule was different from what was listed; we visited the Railway Market, then the Floating Market, and finally the Buffalo Cafe. The Railway Market offered an amazing sight that you would never see in Japan. At the Floating Market, we took a motorboat tour, then got back on the bus to see the Floating Market from land. The boats were very crowded and bumped into each other several times, which made me quite anxious, but the locals seemed unfazed. I think it's a huge advantage to be able to visit several hard-to-reach places together, leave non-valuables on the bus, and even sleep during bus transfers. Japanese tours often come with an extra charge, but this one was the same price as the English tour and included the Floating Market ticket, so I felt it was a great value. However, there was less on-site guiding than I expected, and at the Floating Market, we rode the boat with only other tourists. If you prefer constant guidance, a private tour might be a better option.

It was a 2hrs ride from our hotel to the Train Market. It was really an experience with the train so up close to us. Store owners kept all their stuffs and we had to all stand at the side for the train to pass thru. We even high five the Passengers inside the train. After that is Floating Market which was also another experience that only Thailand can offer. 1 flaw about this tour was ppl with weak legs and eyes were not recommended to go.

We visited during peak Summer in Thailand and would recommend joining the earliest timeslot tour. The transfer coach was clean and comfortable whilst minimal traffic in the early hours. There was ample time at each location to take photos, shop and eat!

I bought the “Join Tour with Pick Up” package, and turned out there was no other people who had bought this package that day and i had a private tour. The guide Wanida arrived early at my pickup point at 7:30am, and she spoke fluent English. She is friendly and helpful, introduced a lot of Thai background to me and helped take a lot of pictures for me. The pickup car was clean and comfy, and the tour was unexpectedly fun, especially the shopping in the rail market and the boat ride. The tour finished at around 3ish, and i could choose to drop off at somewhere other than my starting point. Overall speaking, highly recommend!!!
