Things to do in Rotorua District

The tour was well organized, informative, and enjoyable from start to finish. It was fascinating to learn about the history and behind-the-scenes details of the set. The scenery was stunning, and there were plenty of opportunities to take memorable photos. The comfortable luxury van made the journey relaxing and pleasant, allowing us to sit back and take in the beautiful scenery along the way.

I've visited almost all the attractions around Rotorua, such as Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland, Blue Spring, Huka Falls, and Lake Taupo. What left the deepest impression were Blue Spring and Huka Falls, with their incredibly pristine water and air quality. I really loved these two spots.

Stepping into Hell's Gate Geothermal Park in Rotorua felt like entering a prehistoric world. This place is an absolute must-visit! The guided tour, which was nothing short of excellent. Seeing the steaming fumaroles, the boiling mud, and the raw power of the landscape up close was a truly epic experience—nature at its most fierce and beautiful. But the real magic happened afterwards at the mud spa. After exploring the active thermal park, dipping into the geothermal mud baths and sulphur spas was pure heaven. It was superbly refreshing to soak in the warm, nutrient-rich waters while looking out over the misty, unique landscape. What I loved most is how inclusive it is. It really is suitable for all age groups; my whole family, from the elders to the little ones, had a fantastic time. It is the perfect blend of education, adventure, and pure relaxation. If you are in Rotorua, do not miss Hell's Gate. It is an experience for the soul!

We had such a wonderful time at this hot spring. The atmosphere was peaceful, the water temperature was just right, and the surroundings made the experience even more special. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

it was a great experience for my first time there. the sight, smell and sound was an eye opener of what actually a thermal wonderland is. it has a strong history and wonderful host we had that morning to welcome the show. parking on site was free , do head early as it starts around 1030am.

Loved the introduction to different breeds of sheep! had so many close encounters with deers, llamas, sheep and you get to feed them. definitely go to the farm nursery to take a look at the baby calf and lamb! so cute!! great for animal lovers! just remember to wear old shoes since there’s lots of poo around. they have a shoe washing station though so no worries!

It was good and informative ans entertaining event. Sitting arrangement could have been better.

Using the Klook Pass New Zealand was one of the best decisions during my trip. It turned out to be a big money saver. I wanted to do several activities but was worried about the weather. I used the pass for Shotover Jet in Queenstown, whale watching in Kaikōura, and the Glowworm Cave in Rotorua. Overall, the savings were significant—it basically felt like one activity was free. The only thing to keep in mind is making sure you use all the activities before leaving New Zealand and check the weather so you can adjust your bookings if needed. If you’re planning to do multiple activities, this pass is definitely worth it and saves a lot of money.
