The Klook day tours I've joined so far have never disappointed. This time, our tour guide Thana was extremely attentive, preparing water and small snacks for every member. During the bus ride, he also explained Thai culture and the main buildings we passed along the way. Although lunch was not included in the tour price, the guide reserved a restaurant for us in advance (saving everyone the time of searching everywhere for seats in a crowded tourist spot). Despite unfortunately running into all-day heavy rain, the guide still professionally led us through the entire itinerary and did his best to take great photos for everyone despite the weather. If you want to experience wearing traditional Thai attire, the guide can also help arrange it (at your own expense). Quick tips: 1. There is a dress code for entering the Grand Palace—short skirts, shorts, ripped jeans, etc., are not allowed, so you will need to buy a pair of pants or a skirt outside (around 200 Thai Baht). 2. You need to take off your shoes to enter both the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, so it is recommended to wear shoes that are easy to slip on and off (rain makes things a bit tougher, so bringing an extra pair of socks to change into is advised).

I had a wonderful experience at this Thai cooking school in Thailand. It was a great way to learn about Thai cuisine, and I had a really happy morning. The class was fun, friendly, and informative, making it easy to understand the ingredients and techniques behind Thai food. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an enjoyable and memorable food experience.

The Sanam Chai station is very close. You can buy tickets on the spot and use them immediately. You can bring your own goggles or sunglasses; the free ones provided are often too foggy, so choose carefully. Make sure to wear your goggles properly to avoid getting burned by ejected shell casings, which happened to my lower eyelid twice. Don't mind the cold and poor attitude of the counter staff, especially the one in the middle of the photo.

Fantastic 5.0
A great Bangkok experience! Highly recommended! Tour Guide: At first, I thought the guide only spoke English and Thai, but it turns out she knows a little Chinese! Very impressive! Food: I experienced the lunch tour this time. Since I can't eat very spicy food, I noted that I couldn't eat spicy dishes from the beginning. The team thoughtfully replaced one of the main courses, green curry, with a non-spicy stew for me. Other dishes, like the first main course, the soup noodles, were delicious. The broth was incredibly flavorful and had both vegetables and meat; I truly drank every last drop. The Pad Thai was also very well-coated with sauce, and the shrimp were fresh and tasty! The mango sticky rice at the end is also a must-try; the mango was incredibly sweet! Drinks: There are no alcoholic beverages on the bus. They provide complimentary water throughout the trip, as well as a welcome drink at the beginning. At first, I thought it was some kind of medicinal drink, but it was a very refreshing lime juice. Finally, there's a hot coffee or hot tea. I chose the hot tea because they mentioned it had a caramel aroma, and it really did have a hint of caramel flavor, which was very unique. I even wanted another cup! As for other drinks, like Coke, you have to pay extra, starting from around 50 Thai Baht. Itinerary: Basically, you'll visit nearby tourist attractions such as the Grand Palace, Chinatown, etc. Since the guide provides commentary while you're eating, you'll need to listen to them during meals. However, they also provide about 10 minutes of break time (after the second main course) to allow you to digest and finish your meal at your own pace. Value for Money: Overall, I think it's very worthwhile. Mainly, if you're unsure where to go sightseeing, this tour bus allows you to eat and learn about Bangkok's attractions at the same time, which is a very comfortable experience. I hope to try the dinner tour sometime; I heard that dinner offers a view of Bangkok transitioning from day to night, which should also be great.

This was such a feel-good cruise. Boarding at the ICONSIAM pier was very convenient, and the crew on board was extremely helpful. The buffet spread was fantastic—the grilled river prawns, baked mussels with butter, salmon sashimi, and all the other dishes were well worth it. The singer and the music on board were great, and getting a discount through Klook made it an even better value.

Iconic Sights To Explore At the Grand Palace

Temple of the Emerald Buddha

Wat Phra Kaew, or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is one of Thailand's most sacred places. It's where the famous Emerald Buddha is located. The temple is beautifully decorated for each season, a tradition started by King Rama I and King Rama III. With its rich history and intricate details, it's a must-see for anyone visiting Thailand!

Phra Mondop

The Phra Mondop is an impressively designed Buddhist library situated within the Grand Palace. It holds the sacred Buddhist scriptures, carefully stored on a stunning bookshelf adorned with Mother of Pearl inlays. At each of its four corners, you'll find stone Buddhas carved in the 9th-century Javanese style. Although visitors can't enter the building, you can still admire its beauty from the outside. The

Phra Maha Monthien Buildings

Constructed by King Rama I, this group of traditional Thai-style buildings includes the Baisal Daksin Hall, where ceremonies with royal audiences such as coronations have taken place since King Rama II.

Phra Thinang Chakri Maha Prasat

A blend of Thai and European architectural styles, this throne hall is used for state functions and royal ceremonies. Its foundation stone was first laid by King Rama V in 1876 and it now houses reception rooms, dining hall and a Throne Hall. The top floor is reserved for crematory relics of the children of the royal family.

Queen Sirikit Museum Of Textiles

The Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles honors Thailand's queen mother Queen Sirikit's lifelong dedication to preserving and promoting Thai textiles. After seeing the troubles of villagers on a royal visit through the Kingdom of Thailand with King Rama, Queen Sirikit established a foundation with training centres to allow people to create art to increase their income and preserve the nation's high art form.

Thai artisans at the Queen Sirikit institute create art such as Yan Lipao basketry, Khit pattern bamboo basketry and as well as woven, dyed and embroidered textiles. Today, the innate artistic ability of Thai people is honored at this museum.

Khon Performance at Sala Chalermkrung Royal

Don't miss the chance to experience a mesmerizing Khon performance at the Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre, located within the Grand Palace. This stunning traditional Thai dance drama, dedicated to honoring His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn, brings to life ancient stories through graceful movements and elaborate costumes. With its captivating music, vibrant visuals, and skillful storytelling, the Khon show offers an unforgettable glimpse into the heart of Thailand's artistic traditions.

Essential Rules for Visiting The Grand Palace

Follow the dress code

Since the Grand Palace is a sacred place, you'll have to keep in mind the dress code. Visitors need to wear clothes that cover their shoulders and knees, in line with Thai cultural norms for religious sites. Things like sleeveless shirts, short tops, ripped jeans, mini skirts, and even bike shorts are not allowed. You'll find this dress code mentioned pretty much everywhere, including the official Grand Palace website which lists all the restrictions clearly.

Mind the photography and filming restrictions

Photography and video recording are allowed in most of the open areas of the Grand Palace, so you can capture plenty of beautiful shots of the architecture and outdoor spaces. However, things are stricter inside the temples. When it comes to sacred sites like the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, no photos or videos are allowed. This is a cultural and religious rule, as taking pictures inside could be considered disrespectful to the sacredness of the space and distracting to others who are there for prayer or reflection.

Maintain proper conduct

Being respectful is crucial when visiting the Grand Palace, considering its religious and historical significance. One key cultural rule in Thailand is not pointing your feet at sacred objects or statues, especially Buddha images.

It's also important to keep a quiet and respectful demeanor, so avoid loud conversations and be mindful of your surroundings. Don't touch or climb on any structures, as these are sacred and need to be preserved. All of these actions help maintain the peaceful atmosphere of the palace.

Shoes Off Before Entering Sacred Areas

Another important rule is taking off your shoes before entering temples or sacred areas within the palace, like the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. This is a common practice in Thai temples, so it is recommend wearing lightweight, comfy shoes that are easy to take off.
