I was surprised by how close the hotel was after getting off at Kagoshima Station. The hotel staff were very kind, and the amenity service was excellent. The bedding and room were clean. Overall, it was a wonderful and comfortable stay, and I would like to use JR Hotels again for my next international trip.

the location of the hotel is nice, it should be good for those who come via train. we drove and parked at the tower parking behind and the instructions were not difficult to follow. however, I regretted the room type I booked due to the obstructed Sakurajima view for my specific room type, that wasn’t stated during the booking. have to go to the lobby to get a clear view otherwise.

Guests consistently praise the breakfast, which features local specialties like Kurobuta pork shabu-shabu and chicken rice, making it an excellent base for exploring Kagoshima.

Really satisfying with this hotel, with such a spacious room. super clean and got a full kitchen utensils. Can see sakurajima from the room. will definitely Consider to here again if come back to Kagoshima. However, one minor issue was that we could not find staff that easy if you have any problem to discuss with them.

The Tenmonkan area offers great accessibility, and it's convenient to buy groceries at a nearby supermarket to prepare meals. The view is also excellent, and the place is clean. Although the check-in process took some time, it went smoothly overall.

The only issue was that the spa was under maintenance for all four days of our stay. Public transportation might be a bit of a distance from Kagoshima-Chuo, but this actually turned out to be an advantage, as the view from the window made us want to stay at the hotel all day.

Cozy San was a wonderful guide! She’s very knowledgeable about Sakurajima, Kagoshima and Japan as a whole. We learned a lot about Sakurajima, the history and the present. My son, Michael and I are very grateful to her for a wonderful experience. She made our trip a memorable one and we appreciate all the pictures she took of us. Cozy San domo arigatu gozaimas te! This trip coincided with the rainy season, which was perfect because rainy days are my absolute favorite! Mr. Cameron was an excellent guide, leading us through both mountain hikes and seaside excursions. My memories of this Yakushima trip are truly wonderful!
