Nice experience. We were given sufficient time to tour the Tulou. It was a Chinese-speaking tour. There were people from Singapore, Taiwan, Inner Mongolia, and other parts of China. Everyone was punctual and polite. The coach was very spacious, with only 3 seats in a row. The tour guide was a guy from SHANDONG. He was responsible. The itinerary was covered with sufficient time allocated to each place. To my pleasant surprise, we were served sour vegetable meesua soup, so that we would not be hungry before coming back to Xiamen.

modern clean bus, pseudo shopping stop at the first tulou stop (local guide was selling tobacco and tea while we waited for the photos to be processed) the tulous were amazing, last stop’s scenic area with water wheel was a bit lacklustre. lunch was communal, dishes tasty. mostly local chinese on the tour.

We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel, with clear communication from the organizer a few days before the tour. Even though it rained the whole day, our guide made sure everyone was comfortable and well taken care of. As a traveler in my second trimester of pregnancy and without any Mandarin skills, I really appreciated the guide’s attentiveness. Despite the rain, it was still a memorable and enjoyable Gulangyu experience.

This was our family's first trip to Xiamen, and the beautiful scenery of Gulangyu Island was very attractive. There are many European-style buildings, such as Shuzhuang Garden and the Piano Museum, which made us feel like we were in Europe, and we lingered and didn't want to leave! Our private Chinese tour guide, Mr. Luo Hua, provided a very detailed and clear introduction to the history, culture, architectural features, and world-famous figures of Xiamen Gulangyu, leaving us with an unforgettable impression of this small island. The tour guide was friendly and polite, especially towards the elderly, and would first find seats for them on the ferry. As for language, he not only speaks Mandarin but also understands simple English and Cantonese, so there were no communication problems at all.

Wendy started contacting me months in advance with Whatsapp and Wechat. Few days before the tour date, Wendy contacted me again confirming we will be there. The day before the tour, Wendy created a group chat including the drive / tour guide Xu, and confirmed our hotel location. Xu confirmed the time he will pick-us up. Xu pickus up on time and to our surprise it was only the 2 of us in the big MPV for 6 - a small group tour become a private tour. We greatly appreciate that the tour operator did not cancel this tour. Xu was very professional, knowledgeable, and great driving skill, attentive to our request. The tour was fastantic with Xu knowing the places and local well. The tour ended a bit early then expected, and we are happy with that so we have a bit of time in the evening to look at Xiamen. We are very satisfied and happy with both the tour operator and our Guide Xu. Highly recommended. They are professional! THANK YOU Wendy and Xu.
