Things to do in Nantou

First of all, a big thank you to our tour guide Mr. Ken today! Mr. Ken is professional, humorous, and funny, and his time management was excellent. Because it was drizzling and foggy today, he suggested switching the itinerary and going to the farm in the morning and Sun Moon Lake in the afternoon. Unexpectedly, Sun Moon Lake was indeed closed in the morning due to fog! Thank you, Mr. Ken, for saving our trip. Mr. Ken's driving skills are excellent, and we didn't feel car sick or dizzy on the bus. Along the way, he kept explaining the roadside scenery and local culture and stories in a very interesting way. He also reminded us which local specialties were worth buying and recommended delicious and affordable restaurants for us to eat at. Mr. Ken even collected the leftover bones from our meals to feed the dogs on the downhill road. He's a very, very kind and funny tour guide! Although the weather wasn't great, the day's itinerary was very fulfilling and enjoyable. If I come to Sun Moon Lake a second time, I will choose Mr. Ken as my tour guide again. Highly recommended!!!

Joseph was a great guide. Managed the time well and explained ahead why we had to stay on schedule. Explained a bit of Taiwan history and tid bits about Sun Moon Lake without info over load. Gave us ample time to roam and offered a great meal box for 200NTD. Highlight was the bike ride which took us to a scenic view. It was made more beautiful because of the sunny weather with cool winds. Thank you Joseph.

Had such a wonderful tour experience in Alishan! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking — from the misty mountains and peaceful forests to the unforgettable views. This is a new attraction in Caotun, Nantou. Although some areas of the park are currently under construction and closed, most of the open areas are sufficient for visitors to spend half a day. Not only are there many animals that can be observed up close, but you can also interact with and feed the parrots, which is very interesting. In addition, the park's trail facilities are complete, and a walk around the park can also achieve the effect of a hiking activity. However, there are not many shaded areas outdoors, so be sure to protect yourself from the sun and stay hydrated when it's hot. It is a tourist attraction worth visiting.

Nantou's Water and Pine Cute Garden is truly like stepping into a "real-life animal picture book"! From the Highland cattle's adorably blank stares to the tortoises' leisurely strolls, each animal has its own healing power. Chinchillas and Valais Blacknose sheep are as playful as children, white kangaroos hop around nimbly, and the hairless hamsters' chubby appearance is unbelievably cute 😍. And the meerkats standing guard in formation look like they're having an animal conference; capybaras are the park's "healing kings," and just watching them soak in the water makes you feel instantly relaxed. This place is more than just getting close to nature; it's like a "cuteness overload"! Adults and children alike can be healed here. We highly recommend everyone come for a visit and let the little animals melt away your stress~

We got to explore the sun moon lake with this ticket. You have to purchase this ticket to be able to ride the yacht/boat which travels to 3 ports around the lake. Each ports has its own scenery or activity. In ita thao port you can ride the cable car to get to the formosan village.

It is highly recommended to walk along this 1.2 km path. This skywalk connects swiss garden to Qingjing farm. One day perfect iternary would be to visit Swiss garden first. Then take the skywalk to enter Qingjing farm from which, you can walk back to swiss garden back.

Walking along the forest trails in Xitou is incredibly refreshing. You're surrounded by towering cedar trees and lush green bamboo forests, and the air is so clean you can't help but take deep breaths. As you stroll, listening to the birds singing, you feel completely relaxed, as if you've temporarily escaped the hustle and bustle of the city. It instantly puts you in a great mood, and you can capture a lot of beautiful photos. However, some trails are temporarily closed due to previous typhoon damage, which is a bit of a shame. Hopefully, they'll be reopened by my next visit. Also, the Klook package includes free tea bags from You Shan Cha Fang, which is a nice perk. The staff there are very friendly, and you even get a complimentary cup of freshly brewed tea. I highly recommend it to everyone.
