Kaohsiung Fenyi Academy is a small cultural venue with some interesting historical exhibits. While the architecture and atmosphere offer a glimpse into traditional Taiwanese heritage, the overall experience felt quite limited. Most of the displays are in Chinese, with no English translations, which made it difficult to fully appreciate the context and stories behind the exhibits. If you're fluent in Mandarin or have a guide with you, it may be more worthwhile. Otherwise, it’s a quick stop that might appeal more to locals or history enthusiasts.

Guide

Built in 1814 by Zhang Ting-qin, a tribute student and candidate for instructor in Fengshan, it was designated a third-class historic site in 1985.
In those days, there were 37 rooms, and the courtyard originally enshrined the deities Wenchang, Kuichang, and Cang Sheng. It also had tables and chairs, serving as a place for students in ancient times to study and take annual examinations.

Located next to the Chenghuang Temple, Fengyi Academy was built in 1814 and designated a third-class historic site in 1985.
