Four of Cups A man is enjoying the shade under a big tree of dissatisfaction and opportunity. Suddenly, a hand holding a golden cup burst out of the air, symbolizing a new opportunity, but the man remained unmoved! The three upright golden cups on the ground carry the beautiful memories of the past. The man stared at the three gold cups, but felt bored and ignored the fourth gold cup, which represents the stage of dissatisfaction with the current situation and hesitation about whether to change. From the 3rd card to the 4th card, a stable framework began to be established, and this was also because the emotions began to no longer float so much. After celebrating or carousing with others for a while, I began to take a short break and give myself time to be alone.
we purchased the ticket 30 minutes before we arrived at the venue and it was a very smooth experience. the confirmation email arrived almost immediately. after presenting our voucher at the lobby, we were instantly led to the different areas of exhibit. it was overall, a very unique experience
The avant-garde exhibits were useful in giving an overall atmosphere of posh and exuberance.. great for everyday folk to understand art
The three-story exhibition hall is large or small, so you can take a leisurely stroll through it and experience the different sensory experiences that the works are intended to present. Because we carried a lot of things, the staff was very kind and helpful in helping us complete the delivery. A package for two that comes with a Starbucks voucher is also a good choice.
It is quite different from other art museums. The types of exhibits focus on sound, light and shadow, and the exhibits are separated by glass rooms. The number of exhibits is also quite small. However, the environment is quiet and it is a suitable place to relax before going to Shoushan Zoo (there is a coffee shop inside, which provides food and beverages. )
It is a quiet place suitable for slowly appreciating artworks. The light and shadow changes in the building itself allow you to appreciate the physical beauty of the building while appreciating the artworks, adding a richer sensory experience to the trip. If you are tired, you can go to the cafe on the second floor to enjoy delicious and exquisite afternoon tea desserts and relax.
Take advantage of the summer vacation to visit, the number of visitors is less, and the quality is better. The Aman special exhibition is great, it makes people understand that everything is art. It is very convenient to buy tickets on Klook, you can use it immediately after you buy it. New friends can get a 100 yuan discount by entering the recommendation code MKL3X, which can be used directly.
It was okay, but not really a must visit when you go to Kaohsiung. There are a few nice exhibits but you can definitely give this a pass if you visit the fine arts museum already.

Exhibition Information

Makoto Fujimura, Shozo Michikawa: Dust and Gold (2025.09.28 to 2026.08.30)

Dust is impermanence, daily life, the residue and continuation after material weathering; gold is the flash of light, the sedimentation of belief, the indestructible echo of spirituality.

Two states of existence intertwined in the flow of time. This exhibition is jointly presented by contemporary abstract expressionist artist Makoto Fujimura and ceramic sculptor Shozo Michikawa. Starting from their respective sensitive perceptions of matter and deep spiritual pursuits, they weave a poetic dialogue about time and matter. This is the first large-scale exhibition in Taiwan for both artists, featuring works spanning 1992-2025, including paintings, sound installations, and ceramic sculptures. Through the three sections of the exhibition: [Shining in Silence], [Blooming in Adversity], and [Walking on Water], it guides people to perceive the beauty of tranquility from natural minerals, light, and dynamic sculptures infused with natural energy, opening up a new perspective that is gentle yet firm when facing impermanence.

Ho Kan, Kwon Soon-ik: Wandering Through Time (2025.11.23 to 2026.11.01)

Works spanning seventy years (1955 to 2024), including paintings, object installations, and early artist manuscripts, re-evoke the core spirit of “abstraction” in the East Asian context through a cross-generational and cross-regional dialogue between two artists. With “Form and Qi” as the curatorial axis, the exhibition features works spanning 1955 – 2024, including paintings, object installations, and early artist manuscripts. It unfolds a rhythm of perception through five major exhibition areas: [Order of Form, Flow of Qi], [Re-gazing at East Asian Abstraction], [From Stillness to Motion: Dots, Squares, Triangles], [Between Form and Qi: The Entrance to Eternity], [Painting is the Bridge Between Us]. At the same time, the integration of cleverly placed designer furniture guides viewing angles and experiential flow.

Jiro Kamata: Eye of the Celestial Dome

Miniature optical jewelry in the palm of your hand, carving the infinite imagination of cosmic light, and integrating art, fashion, and astronomical science in a cross-disciplinary exhibition.

"Art in Motion — Eye of the Celestial Dome." Stepping into the world of Jiro Kamata's works, viewers will feel the temporal dimension of starlight from the universe. The artist combines contemporary jewelry (miniature optical sculptures) with light refraction and innovative materials to create mesmerizing artworks resembling black holes and galaxies. These works not only showcase the peculiar colors of starlight twinkling in the night sky but also convey fantastic associations with the unseen yet existing universe.
