We really enjoyed the Tokyo Ginza: Traditional Chopstick Making Experience. From choosing the wood that we wanted to make the chopsticks from; planing the wood into the tapered shape; sanding any irregularities out of the wood (and having an engraving of a special message added - which is an optional extra and dependent on time); and finally oiling the sticks. The instructors were friendly and informative. The upstairs workshop (there was a downstairs area too) was well set up with the required tools and aprons. Highly recommend this experience.
This was such a fun thing to do in Japan. Everyone's English is great, they are incredibly helpful and give you step by step instructions the whole way. You absolutely can't mess it up! Even me, who snapped a chopsticks 😂
a unique experience! The instructor was a lovely person (we ended up talking about anime locations in Tokyo 😅). The instructions were very clear and, above all, it was a lot of fun... this experience is 100% recommendable.
This was such a memorable experience. About an hour long activity for a very affordable price, and it was so unique. These are something I will keep forever, they turned out great! The staff were so nice and knowledgeable as well.
This experience was very fun and different! We choose our own wood and make chopsticks by ourselves from beginning. The instructors were very kind and help us step by step, so it was not difficult to follow. I like that we can bring home something we made with our own hands. Very meaningful souvenir from Japan. Highly recommend!
This was such a fun activity if you love to work with your hands. I went with my boyfriend and we made beautiful chopsticks with our names engraved onto them. The staff were lovely and very helpful! I definitely recommend that you add it to you Japan Itinerary!
This was yet another fun craft session. Making our own pair of chopsticks to take home with us. We got them engraved for a few extra yen. The staff were all lovely, happy and chatty-well spoken and keen in making sure we felt comfortable and using the tools properly. Booking via Klook was great-super easy. The location was again a bit hard to find but we got there in the end and were very happy to be in the cool out of the heat. A bonus would have been if bottled water was sold on the premises. We had finished ours and were really really thirsty during the session. Other than that we had a great time!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable, family-friendly Ginza experience!I f you are looking for a hands-on activity to do with your kids in Tokyo, do not hesitate to book this! The staff at this Ginza workshop were incredibly kind, welcoming, and patient with me and my 11-year-old son. We loved choosing our own wood, and the instructors carefully guided us through carving, sanding, and oiling our personalized chopsticks. They made sure my son felt included and capable the entire time, even when he needed a little extra help. We got our names engraved in Japanese for a sweet, meaningful touch. It was such a special, calming bonding experience, and we brought home the absolute best souvenir from Japan. Highly recommend it to any family visiting Tokyo!
I did this with my kids and they loved it. The chopsticks we made were engraved at the end with an additional 1000 yen. It was relaxing and fun experience.
My son and I had a wonderful time making our own chopsticks. Our teachers were so fun and made our time very enjoyable. I highly recommend this very affordable family activity.
