The journey starts from the famous Noboribetsu Jigokudani, which is an active crater site. The steaming white smoke and the strong smell of sulfur bring a shocking scene like hell. Some trails may be closed in winter, but Jigokudani in the snow is still full of charm! Then go to the nearby Oyunuma to experience the steaming sulfur springs. The scenic area may not be accessible due to road closures in winter, but the scenery is definitely worth the trip.
Then go to Noboribetsu Bear Farm (cable car and ticket fees are at your own expense) to see the symbol of Hokkaido-Ezo brown bears! You can buy feed to feed the bears, experience close interaction, and even walk through the "human cage" to experience the unique excitement of being surrounded by bears.
In the afternoon, visit Nix Marine Park, an aquarium designed with Danish castles as inspiration. There are more than 400 marine creatures and penguin parade performances. Stroll through the underwater tunnel and watch sharks and stingrays swim overhead. Stay at a hot spring hotel at night, in winter (from November 1st to April 27th) stay at Noboribetsu Sekisuitei Onsen Hotel, and in summer (from April 28th to October 31st) stay at Toyako Kanko Hotel. Noboribetsu Hell Valley: It is a volcanic crater in Noboribetsu City, Hokkaido, Japan, near Lake Toya
