My big brown bag containing all souvenirs that I got from Vancouver, disappeared from my room after two Housekeeping staff entered my room to clean it. When I returned to my room in the evening I immediately reported it and provided all the RECEIPTS and PHOTOS also a called police and they gave me a file number. But at the end the hotel manager said they had investigations, but I was left without any clear explanation.
The manager did not apologize for the missing belongings or accept responsibility. He called it “Mystery” and I found his handling of the situation dismissive and disrespectful.
About the safety of this hotel, on another occasion the manager entered my room while the Do Not Disturb indicator was active without first obtaining my permission.
Also while I checked-in there was a strand of Hair in the bathroom sink and the fridge had a disgusting smell.
For a long stay costing around $4,000, this experience was unacceptable and waste of money and time and ruined my entire vacation it had a significant impact on my perspective toward Canada and specially Vancouver of their reputation for “safety”.
Guests concerned about their belongings, privacy and cleanliness should seriously consider another hotel.
