The overnight stay was fantastic. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable with awesome views of the koalas and the city of Sydney. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious. The kids especially had a wonderful time.

Our second stay here and lovely room looking out to koalas. Recommend getting the animal view room especially if you have kids travelling with you. Night tour was really great on our first visit a couple of years ago but quite underwhelming this time as we didn’t really see anything at all, aside from the dingoes. Included sanctuary tour in the afternoon was great. The friendly staff are a highlight of the visit and the easy included parking, ability to catch a ferry into the city to do other activities around Sydney was great too. Amazing location for views from Me Gal (restaurant onsite where included breakfast was served). Breakfast options weren’t very good this time compared to our last visit with pretty limited choices for a 5 star hotel. Room service choices were pretty limited too but good quality. Well laid out, compact rooms with comfortable furnishings.

We came from Perth to spend 4 nights at the Retreat. I cannot imagine a more wonderful place to stay for couples, groups or solo travellers. Every aspect is thoughtfully designed and aesthetically pleasing; it makes great use of the natural surroundings and materials are eco-friendly. We enjoyed evenings in the lamp-lit lounge and on the wide balcony watching the big city across the harbour. The buffet breakfasts were generous and delicious; guests’ attention drifted off with the intoxicating panorama. I loved that we were always in a relationship with the zoo. We could come and go through the days and joined a night tour plus small group Sanctuary tour led by zoo staff & volunteers. We met lesbian geese, an overweight menopausal echidna, daughters of a lioness who chose brains over swagger, a capybara who snuck out of his enclosure to let loose on a kids’ playground…I am missing the koala brothers snoozing in the tree right outside our room. The staff are happy and so they are kind, generous with stories and information. This was a genuine retreat for my daughter and me; I feel calmer but also energised. You should go!

Needs to be an egg made to order service for breakie and more native ingredients and local Aussie produced used and interpreted at the breakfast station. Breakfast was ok but not outstanding for luxury. That would be my constructive feedback. Everything else was amazing !

Very well informed about allergens allowing us our first restaurant outing with our toddler. Thank you to all of the friendly staff who made things so much easier for us

Our room was clean and easy to get to the lobby and breakfast. It was awesome to have our very own Koala to look at for our entire 4 day stay. Best hotel/resort in Sydney and the staff were very polite, friendly, and knowledgeable about all of the animals and helped us with taxis. Very safe upscale neighborhood. Best views of the Opera House and Harbor Bridge. Would recommend it for all ages. Very nice to have our own private access to the zoo to come and go as we pleased. No smell of the animals at all. Best of Sydney!!!

Loved. Loved staying here. A must for anyone visiting Sydney. Everything about our stay was world class. Wow!!!

Incredible one of the best stays i’ve ever had anywhere, room could be more spacious but experience more than makes up for it. Definitely take advantage of what the zoo
