It was a wonderful trip. I highly recommend everybody to visit this place from Busan. Since it is a bit far, It is highly recommended for the people to do a day trip, which makes it very convenient. The drive was very comfortable. Kenny was our tour guide and he was very nice and accommodating. he gave us plenty time at each spot. It is a well planned itinerary. We were able to finish each spot way ahead of time. Luckily, the weather was a combination of Sunny and cloudy. Therefore, pictures came very pretty.

Lovely tour! I had an absolutely amazing time on this tour today! Exploring Pohang was a highlight of my trip. From the charming Japanese Village and the iconic When the Camellia Blooms filming spot to the peaceful beauty of Bogyeongsa Temple (Pohang), every moment was special. The lunch time at the local market to enjoy some delicious, fresh crab was the perfect spot. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience the authentic heart of Pohang!

Our tour guide, Seam, introduced each attraction and even helped us take photos. The itinerary for Pohang's key attractions was excellent. They also took us to the market for seafood at lunchtime. Highly recommended!

Despite facing competition from large discount stores, the market has thrived due to the resilience and innovation of its merchants. Pohang's history, dating back to the Mumun Pottery Period, includes archaeological finds like small villages and dolmen burials. The city played a strategic role during the Korean War, witnessing significant military operations. Today, Pohang is a blend of industrial prowess and cultural heritage, with Jukdo Market serving as a testament to its rich maritime culture.

Local Cuisine

Indulge in Pohang's culinary delights, including the famous Pohang-style cold raw fish soup and abalone rice porridge. Don't miss the opportunity to try the half-dried saury, especially popular during the winter months. The market is a prime spot to sample local delicacies like gwamegi, a semi-dried Pacific saury, and various raw fish offerings. Must-try dishes include chewy raw fish sashimi, marinated crabs, and the spicy-sweet chojang sauce, all of which highlight the region's culinary expertise. The vibrant food scene at Jukdo Market is a reflection of Pohang's coastal bounty and culinary traditions.

Cultural Significance

Jukdo Market is not just a place to buy seafood; it's a cultural hub that reflects Korea's deep connection to the sea. The market's vibrant atmosphere and diverse offerings provide a glimpse into the local way of life and culinary traditions.
