Our tour guide, Mr. Chen, was excellent! He's fluent in both Chinese and English, always kept an eye on everyone, managed our time perfectly, and provided clear explanations of the historical background for all the attractions. Highly recommend! ❤️

We had an amazing Nara and Kyoto tour today! Everything was organized, making the trip smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. Visiting Nara Park and interacting with the friendly deer was definitely a highlight, while Kyoto's beautiful temples, shrines, and traditional streets gave us a deeper appreciation of Japan's rich culture and history. Our guide-VALERIE, was knowledgeable, accommodating, and shared interesting stories and local insights that made each stop even more memorable. The pace of the tour was just right, giving us enough time to explore, take photos, and truly soak in the atmosphere. Transportation was comfortable, and the entire experience was stress-free. Overall, it was a wonderful day filled with unforgettable sights, delicious food, and plenty of memorable moments. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience the charm, history, and beauty of Nara and Kyoto in a single day. Thank you for making my solo travel so special! -LagaJuan101 (Instagram name)

What an incredible tour! we wholeheartedly enjoyed our experience, and felt as though we were able to absorb so much culture and history in just one day. Our guide, Valerie, was exceptional. She was attentive, personable, and couldn’t have done more to ensure our day was as insightful as it possibly could be. If we are lucky enough to return to Kyoto, there’s only one tour we’d consider.

This is my second time riding the Arashiyama Scenic Railway. This time, I mainly wanted to bring my son to experience the unique train ride and enjoy the scenery along the way. It was very convenient to book and reserve seats on Klook in advance, which meant we didn't have to rush or buy tickets on the spot. I highly recommend it to tourists who want to enjoy the Arashiyama scenery.

We had an enjoyable day on this Kyoto and Nara tour despite the rainy weather. Our tour guide, Zoey, was friendly, approachable, and organised. She gave clear instructions throughout the trip and ensured everyone knew the meeting points and timings, which was especially helpful given the large crowds. The attractions we visited were beautiful and well worth seeing. However, they were extremely crowded, and the rain made moving around more challenging. Walking through busy areas with umbrellas and wet pathways required extra patience and time. Despite this, the itinerary was well planned and allowed us to experience some of the most iconic sights in Kyoto and Nara. Zoey remained cheerful and helpful throughout the day, helping everything run smoothly. Overall, this was a worthwhile tour with an excellent guide, and we would recommend it to first-time visitors to the Kansai region.

This rafting experience was one of the highlights of our Osaka trip. The activity was well organised, and the instructors made us feel safe throughout while still keeping the adventure exciting and fun. Our instructors, Rosan and Milan, were professional, friendly, and had a great sense of humour. They joked with the group frequently, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere from start to finish. One of the optional activities was a cliff jump into the river. My son decided to do it, while I chose to stay on the raft. It turned out to be his favourite activity of the entire trip and something he will remember for a long time. The scenery along the river was beautiful, and the rafting route provided a good balance of excitement and safety. Whether you are travelling with friends or family, I would highly recommend this experience. It was an unforgettable adventure and excellent value for money.

Cultural and Historical Significance

Otagi Nenbutsuji Temple, originally established in the 8th century, has a fascinating history of resilience. Initially built in the Higashiyama area in 770, it was relocated due to natural disasters. Despite facing floods, fires, and a typhoon, the temple has been restored multiple times. In 1955, Kocho Nishimura, a talented Buddhist statue sculptor, breathed new life into the temple by inviting visitors to carve unique rakan statues between 1981 and 1991. This initiative transformed the temple into a vibrant symbol of creativity and endurance, showcasing the artistic spirit of its contributors.

Artistic Legacy

Otagi Nenbutsuji Temple is a remarkable blend of religion and art, where the Nishimura family has continued to innovate by integrating music, photography, and video. This creative approach celebrates the Buddha's message of happiness, making the temple not just a place of worship but also a hub of artistic expression. Visitors can experience this unique fusion, which adds a modern twist to the temple's ancient roots.
