Not too far from the city center, it's worth a visit if you have a car! The Safari is really great, taking about 40 minutes, and has a good number of animals with detailed explanations! Exploring the rest of the park takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. The animals have quite large enclosures, so sometimes you have to look around a bit to find them 😂. The walking trails are well-planned with hardly any stairs, and there are also some areas for children to play!

Sovereign Hill is a captivating open-air museum in Ballarat, recreating Australia’s 1850s gold rush era. With costumed actors, gold panning, and hands-on activities, it brings history to life. The old-world streets, mine tours, and evening light show are highlights. Perfect for families and history buffs, it’s an immersive and educational experience, blending fun with rich cultural heritage.

Easy and convenient to use, cheaper than purchasing at the entrance. Tickets have to be redeemed at the counter before the entry.

The free car tour in the park is very worthwhile. It is like being in the African savannah. The animals have a large range of activities. Zebras, rhinos, elephants, giraffes and antelopes are all in front of you. The car can be ridden unlimited times and you can reach out to feel the wind. There are many people queuing, but the speed is fast. A group of kangaroos just jumped past me. It was perfect. The baby rhino was the highlight and you never get tired of watching it!
