Fantastic 5.0
A magical place. We spent about 6 hours there, and you need to be good on your feet, as despite escalators and cable cars, you'll climb many stairs and walk breathtaking paths around the mountains. A truly great experience.

Fantastic 5.0
"Unreal Views, but a Logistics and Crowd Nightmare"The Good:The scenery is absolutely mind-blowing. Seeing the floating karst pillars in person looks exactly like Avatar and photos do not do it justice. Walking along the Golden Whip Stream at the valley floor was a peaceful highlight, and the views from Tianzi Mountain are unforgettable. The Bad:The crowd management is exhausting. Even during the shoulder season, we faced massive tour groups, loud megaphones, and pushing in lines. We waited nearly 90 minutes just for a 2-minute ride on the Bailong Elevator. The Reality Check:This is not a relaxing nature hike. It is a highly commercialized, physically demanding theme park for mountains. You will walk thousands of concrete steps.Top Tips:Get to the gates by 7:00 AM or face brutal lines.Download an offline translator app; English signage and English-speaking staff are rare.Do not forget your physical passport, or they will not let you in.

i had little expectations because all i see in the videos are the glass bridge and the zipline but the walking trail is really beautiful. by far my favorite among everything we've seen in china.

Fantastic 5.0
The show was magnificent and enjoyable. There is singing, acrobat and visual effects from the lightings. We were given row 1 seats as we got the svip tickets! Need to contact the vendor to get the exchange code at the ticketing counter or self service kiosk. A pity the outdoor show was cancelled due to rain

Had an amazing two days. this two day tour is worth doing. highly recommend, however, there are hidden costs so be mindful. our guide Doris is such a lovely warm person, very helpful, respectful and on her way to becoming a No.1 tour guide.

5/5 – Highly recommended! Got a great deal on Klook, and the booking process was completely seamless. Voucher redemption was straightforward with no issues at the venue. It saved both time and money. Will definitely book again!

What to know before visiting Zhangjiajie

What draws visitors to Zhangjiajie year-round

Zhangjiajie’s ticket and booking activity is led by Parks & gardens and Museums, with Tours, Events & shows and Attraction passes also popular. Demand peaks in March and falls through mid-year, so the city’s main outdoor and cultural draws are busiest in the early-spring period and much quieter around July.

Best activities for families, couples and solo travellers

Families will find Parks & gardens and Attraction passes the easiest options — outdoor scenery and straightforward entry tickets suit kids and multigenerational groups. Couples often pair Museums with scenic park visits for a mix of culture and dramatic landscapes. Solo travellers and small groups tend to choose Tours and Events & shows for deeper local insight and more social, guided experiences.

What travellers from Australia should book in advance

If you’re travelling from Australia, plan at least a few weeks ahead for major activities: typical bookings are made around 17 days out, while the earliest planners secure arrangements about 33 days in advance. Booking ahead matters most in the peak month of March, when demand spikes and flexibility can be limited.

How categories compare on price and who they suit

Attraction passes are the easiest, lowest-cost way in and are ideal for budget-conscious visitors wanting simple access. Museums sit at modest mid-range prices and appeal to culture-focused travellers. Tours are the priciest and show the widest range of options — from budget group outings to premium private experiences — making them the category with the greatest variety for differing budgets. Events & shows typically sit on the lower end and work well for visitors seeking an affordable evening or one-off experience.
