Perhaps the most striking feature of the restaurant is a giant-sized Totoro that is the subject to many selfies and photo op sessions. If you’re a Totoro fanatic, you’ll probably be tempted to steal it and bring it home with you!
Although the Ghibli Museum in Tokyo, Japan has the Straw Hat Cafe, this restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand differs in the fact that it’s a restaurant dedicated solely to the lovable Totoro from My Neighbour Totoro.

It’s been said that Toshio Suzuki, Studio Ghibli producer and co-founder, was inspired to open the restaurant in Bangkok because of his love for Thailand’s countryside and the chicken wings he tasted from a humble local stall.

Although you can count on the menu to feature the yummy chicken wings, there are also a number of other dishes that are not to be missed. There are mini fluffy Totoro steamed buns, Sootballs (Susuwatari) dessert, comforting local dishes like Thai soups, curries and many more to come.
