Six Flags Magic Mountain is just north of Los Angeles, at the Magic Mountain Parkway exit off Interstate 5 in Valencia. Los Angeles is not big on public transportation, and because of California’s sheer size, booking a private car or driving is the best way to go.
For those travelling by car, simply type in Six Flags Magic Mountain’s address on your navigation apps: 26101 Magic Mountain Parkway, Valencia, CA 91355.

    By car

From Hollywood, easily rent a car with Klook and cruise up the 101 Freeway north to the 170 Freeway north. Continue onto Interstate 5 north, then take the Magic Mountain Parkway exit. Hang a left at the traffic signal, zoom under the freeway overpass, follow Magic Mountain Parkway, and voila—you're at the toll booths and park entrances.
Coming from LAX? Head north on the 405 Freeway, automatically transitioning to I-5 north. Exit at Magic Mountain Parkway, turn left at the traffic signal, cruise along Magic Mountain Parkway, and you'll hit the toll booths and entrances.

    By bus

If public transportation is more your style (and to save a bit on those Lyft prices), you've got options. Take the Metro Red Line—North Hollywood 757 Express route from Downtown LA to North Hollywood Station.
Then, hop on the 757 Express bus to McBean Regional Transit Station (MRTC), followed by a Santa Clarita Transit ride on routes 3 & 7 to Six Flags Magic Mountain.

    By train

Prefer the train? Take the Metrolink (Antelope Valley Line) from Union Station Downtown LA to Newhall Station. Transfer onto Santa Clarita Transit routes 1 & 2 or 4 & 14 to MRTC, and finally, catch routes 3 & 7 directly to Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Craving for more? California isn't the only tropical paradise in the US. From hiking trails to snorkelling in crystal-clear waters, jet off to the Aloha State and uncover the best things to do in Hawaii—just five hours away from Los Angeles.

But it shouldn’t come as a surprise since Six Flags put their A-game on with Full Throttle which has known to break records since it was introduced to the theme park in 2013.

    6. X2

Though it isn't the world's tallest ride, an attraction that you must try before you leave is X2. Located in Baja Ridge within the theme park, X2 is the world's first fourth-dimension (4D) coaster that soars you to 200 ft in the air.
But if you’re not into roller coaster lore and terminologies, what exactly is a 4D coaster? Simply put, it’s a steel roller coaster that rotates independently of the track's orientation. So it’s not like traditional roller coasters where you’re just stationary. Your seats are essentially moving perpendicular to the track.
If the course isn’t enough, adrenaline junkies will surely love this ride with its 360-degree rotating seats and head-first, face-down drops—making it feel like you’re riding two rides at once.
The ride has two inversions with a skydive, two raven turns (known better as a half loop), one backflip, and a twisting front flip. Plus, it can reach speeds of up to 76 mph!

Your trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain can easily be summarised in three tips. The theme park can get a bit crowded, so it’s best to be prepared ahead of time to make sure you maximise your time!

    1. Plan your trip on a weekday

Weekends are definitely busy. No work, no school—it’s the most convenient time for all families and groups. Most guests visit the theme park on the weekends and plan their entire vacation around this time.
So if you have the chance, book your trip on a weekday to avoid long lines and the crowds. As a rule of thumb, the less crowded days are traditionally during the weekdays, specifically on Mondays to Wednesdays.

    2. Work your way from the back of the park

Get ahead of the crowds and the lines by arriving early. Walk to the other side of the park first since the popular rides are located at the back of the park.

    3. Dress for the occasion and bring important items

No matter the season, it can get hot in California. It isn’t called the Golden State for no reason, so protect yourself and your company by simply packing the essentials like sunscreen, a cap, and a bottle of water.
Aside from these, non-negotiables include your identification card, power banks or chargers, and cash or cards in case you would like to buy something around the theme park.
But wait, there’s more! Since the park is 262 acres, after all, you’ll be walking a lot. Dress casually with shirts, tops, shorts, pants, and comfortable rubber shoes. Generally, the park advises its guests to avoid inappropriate clothing, like those with violent themes, vulgarity, or discriminatory language, to maintain the family-friendly environment of the theme park!
