New Zealand truly has it all - from beautiful mountains, glaciers, wine regions, picturesque landscapes. Those aside though, another unique thing that this country has to offer (particularly in Rotorua) is its quite literally, breathtaking geysers.
Here are two geysers in Rotorua you have to see for yourself during your visit!

    1. Pohotu Geyser

"Pohotu" literally translates to "big splash" or "explosion, and this name is very apt for this one! You've probably heard of Pohotu already as this one truly can't be missed! It's the single largest geyser in the southern hemisphere apparently, erupting up to 20 times a day, to over 40 meters high.
You can view the geyser from a nearby attraction which is Whakarewarewa - The Living Maori Village, so do check that out too. Experiencing the geyser first hand has been described as out of this world, so don't miss it!

    2. Lady Knox Geyser

    Lady Knox
As if on cue, this geyser puts on a show at 10:15AM every day, guaranteed. Aside from its magnificent spouting, this geyser has an interesting history behind it! If you want to find out all about it, we highly suggest you visit and listen to the local guide who reveals to the audience the science behind this spouting geyser - you won't regret it, we promise!
This geyser is one of the main attractions in Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, home to the largest mud pool in New Zealand. Aside from Lady Knox, you'll also witness a spectacular display of New Zealand’s most colorful and unique geothermal elements - sulfuric pools, bubbling muds, and hot springs.
