    PSA: Remember, you'll have to pre-book your tickets as no tickets will be sold at the gate due to COVID-19 restrictions.

    Getting to Melbourne Zoo

    The Melbourne Zoo is on Elliott Ave, Parkville VIC 3052.
    Getting to Melbourne Zoo by public transport is the easiest, most convenient and eco-friendly way to go!
    Travelling by public transport
    By Tram
    • Route 58 between West Coburg and Toorak runs via William Street in the city centre every day, with services as often as every 6 minutes, stopping directly outside Melbourne Zoo at Stop 26. Make sure you travel safely on board.
    By Train
    • Trains run from Flinders Street Station on the Upfield line every day, stopping at Royal Park Station - just across the road from Melbourne Zoo’s rail gate entrance. Please see above advice about planned disruptions on the Upfield line due to the Level Crossing Removal Project.
    By Bus
    • Bus route 505 from Moonee Ponds to Melbourne University stops outside Melbourne Zoo.
    Travelling by car
    Melbourne Zoo is located only minutes north of the city centre at Royal Park and is 20 minutes from Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine). 
    Car parking is $2 for a five-hour ticket. Don’t forget to display your parking ticket on your dashboard as the area is regularly monitored by parking officers. 
    During peak times, like school and public holidays, zoo staff do their best to get you parked and into the zoo as quickly as possible. Please follow instructions from the parking attendants to ensure the best experience possible.

    Werribee Zoo's address is K Rd, Werribee South VIC 3030
    Travelling by public transport
    From Melbourne
    • Catch a train from the Melbourne CBD to Werribee station (travelling on the Werribee Line).
    • From Werribee station catch Bus 439 Werribee South to the Zoo.
    From Geelong
    • Catch a train from Geelong to Wyndham Vale station (travelling towards Melbourne).
    • From Wyndham Vale station catch the Bus 190 Werribee Station to Werribee station.
    • From Werribee station catch Bus 439 Werribee South to the Zoo.
    Travelling by car
    From the CBD
    • Werribee Open Range Zoo is located 35 kilometres west of Melbourne’s city centre, on the Princes Freeway. It is a short 30-minute drive from the city over the Westgate Bridge or via the Geelong Road. (Take the Werribee South exit to K Road.)
    • The zoo is also en route to the Great Ocean Road and is a major attraction on the Great Southern Touring Route and the Bay Tour.
    From Avalon Airport
    • If you’re driving from Avalon Airport, take the M1 towards Melbourne Airport/Melbourne. It takes around 25 minutes to get to Werribee Open Range Zoo.

    Getting to Healesville Sanctuary

    Healesville Sanctuary is on Glen Eadie Ave, Healesville VIC 3777
    Travelling by public transport
    First, catch a train to Lilydale station. Buses will then take you to Healesville Sanctuary.
    1. Train to Lilydale
    Catch a train from the Melbourne city centre to Lilydale, travelling on the Lilydale line.
    2. Bus to Healesville
    From Lilydale Station, you need to catch bus 685 to Healesville, then a connecting bus (686 towards Badger Creek) will take you to Healesville Sanctuary.

    Travelling by car
    From Melbourne CBD
    Healesville Sanctuary is located on Glen Eadie Ave, just off Badger Creek Road, Healesville about a 1 hour and 15-minute drive from the CBD. 
    From Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine)
    From Tullamarine Airport, it’s approximately a 1 hour and 10-minute drive.
