Sounds pretty neat, right? You’re in it for an even more amazing trip once you get to Seoul. And here are five ways to do so—keep scrolling!

How to get to Seoul from Incheon Airport

    1. Airport Railroad Express (AREX)

The Airport Railroad Express (AREX) has two types of trains that go back and forth between Seoul and the airport: the Express Train, which runs from Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 to Seoul Station, and the All Stop Train, which stops at all the subway stations going to Seoul and around Seoul.

Express Train vs. All Stop Train: Which one should you take?

    • Express Train
Easily the most convenient mode of transportation from the airport, the Express Train directly transports you from the airport to Seoul Station in a snap! In just 45 minutes from Terminal 1/Terminal 2, you’ll arrive at the heart of Seoul.
You can get your hands on Express Train tickets from the AREX Travel Centre located in the second-floor basement, where you’ll choose your assigned seats and enjoy 45 minutes of non-stop ride to Seoul—free WiFi included!
    Travel time: 45 minutes
Fare: 9,500 KRW (adults) ; 7,500 KRW (children)
    Operating hours: 5:15 AM - 10:48 PM
    No. of stops: None (direct)
    • All Stop Train
For a cheaper option, All Stop Train is your best mate with fares only half the price of Express Train. For only 4,000 won, you can travel to South Korea’s capital city swiftly. The only catch? Compared to Express Trains, the ride is a teeny bit longer, although not by much.
Coming from the Airport Station, you’ll arrive in Seoul within an hour or so. As this train has 11 subway station stops, including Gongdeok and Hongik University Station, it’s the perfect mode of transportation for adventurous travellers!
To ride the All Stop Train, you need to buy a subway card, either from the Transportation Centre on B1F or from convenience stores and the Tourist Information Centre inside the airport.
    Travel time: 1 hour
    Fare: 4, 150 KRW (Terminal 1); 4, 750 KRW (Terminal 2)

Another great and affordable way to get to Seoul is by bus. Airport buses offer comfy seats and great views while travelling along the road. Also, it’s pretty convenient if your hotel’s located in a non-central location as there are plenty of bus routes and lines to choose from.

    Airport bus types

There are two: deluxe and standard. Deluxe airport buses operate non-stop and go through the major hotels and destinations in Seoul. They’re also designed with comfier seats and more leg room, so you can relax and stretch out your legs after that 10-hour flight from Australia.
As for standard buses, they have more stops, going around neighbourhoods that are not near tourist attractions or central areas. And they also come with smaller seats.

Where do I buy bus tickets?

    • Terminal 1: Ticketing office on Exits 4 and 9 inside the Arrival Hall
    • Terminal 2: Transportation Centre (B1)
Klook tip: Check your bus route before flying to make your South Korea travel trip a breeze!
    Travel time: 1 hour
    Fare: 9,000 won - 10, 000 KRW (Standard); 14,000 won - 16, 000 KRW (Deluxe)
    Operating hours: 5:05 AM - 11:20 PM

The standard Seoul fare starts at 3,800 KRW (4.21 AUD) and it goes up depending on the distance and the traffic. Besides that, taxis will also charge you additional fees for the freeway and even nighttime fees, so better think twice before hailing a cab.
You can find the taxi stand at the Arrivals Hall (F1) on both terminals.
