Before getting off the train or exiting the station, you'll need to wait a few seconds for the network to load. Then, simply open the ticket's barcode to show it to the staff. It's very convenient to buy and use instantly. I started from Gora Station and traveled counter-clockwise around the Hakone area, taking the cable car, pirate ship, and bus. On the second day, I took the bus route included in the ticket from Gora to Gotemba, arriving at my destination in 40 minutes. The bus has a luggage storage area for large bags, and some attractions offer discounted admission. Gora Park even offers free entry, which is a great deal.
Totally worth it, especially if you’re staying in Hakone for at least one or two nights. This pass made traveling around Hakone so much easier and more convenient — it really covered almost everything! Hakone was my favorite part of the trip, and having this pass allowed me to explore at my own pace. I even used some transportation routes twice just for the fun of it, and it was still a great deal compared to paying separately. Highly recommended for anyone planning to enjoy Hakone’s scenic routes, cable cars, and lake cruise without worrying about extra costs.
It's really worth it. You can use it for everything, bus, train, cable car, ropeway, pirate ship. The connection to the Round Course is perfect. Getting from Tokyo to Hakone with the pass was no problem at all from Shinjuku.
the hakone free pass is easy to use and able to access to all the attractions! recommended to buy it from Klook but you have to open Klook app to show the QR code, sometimes if your mobile connection is not good it will take some time to generate
Easy pass redemption on the Odakyu Tourism Office located in Shinjuku West. I was able to visit different places in Hakone with my free pass using train, cable car and buses that is covered by it and ride the pirate ship. I just show my paper ticket to the driver or to the station staff. Just be careful not to lose it. Overall, it is a good value for money and can have discounts in other spots too.
Recommend to get the Hakone Freepass. it covers most transportation in Hakone. note if travelling on the romancecar, need to purchase a reserve seat for ¥1200.
We would definitely recommend to get this pass. It is a great value for money especially when you plan to stay in Hakone. It was such a nice place and we enjoyed riding different kind of transportations such as bus, train, cable car, ropeway, and the ship.
If you're planning an overnight trip to Hakone, I highly recommend purchasing the Hakone Free Pass—it's definitely worth the money! The pirate ship and cable car are both fantastic experiences. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great that day, so the cable car views were all foggy 🥲 I'll definitely come back again! Also, if you've bought an e-ticket, I suggest opening the app about a minute before you get to the front of the line for an attraction to let the page load, as you can't take screenshots.
Activated the mobile pass ticket on the morning of, departing from Shinjuku Station. Follow directional signs to the Odakyu Line. Easy to use throughout the Hakone Loop - train, cable car, ropeway, bus - and the pirate ship cruise. Just make sure you have mobile data, as need to scan or show the live QR code ticket each time (screenshot not valid). Convenient & good value for money.
Highly recommended if you want to explore Hakone with ease. This pass covers main attractions and access to transportation which makes it very convenient. One mistake we did was thinking that it's a 2 days pass, we could use it again the next day but it doesn't work once you exit Hakone. (We traveled from Tokyo and didn't plan to stay overnight in Hakone). So we had to buy the pass again the next day to reenter Hakone.
