What to expect
Get to see the fascinating estuarine (saltwater) crocodiles with this full-day cruise on the Proserpine River, home to over 150 saltwater crocodiles and various birds, mammals, reptiles, and more! The tour starts with an early meet-up at the location on Hamilton Island. You'll be transferred to the campsite in Proserpine, where your exciting day begins. Start with a welcome from the tour guides and a quick introduction to the tour. Afterward, hop on the River Runner, a sturdy and comfortable cruise vessel, and the crane will lower you onto the river to start the cruise! Keep your eyes peeled for the majestic saltwater crocs (fondly called Salties), birds, reptiles, and even the famous Queensland mud crab. After your cruise, head back to the campsite for a delicious barbecue lunch. The next part of your tour starts with a wetland tour on a tractor-drawn wagon. Get to discover the beauty of the wetlands, including the area's vegetation, uniquely! Plus - you'll get to learn all about flora and fauna thanks to the expert commentary of the tour guides. Once the wetland tour is done, you'll head back to the campsite to sample some damper and billy-tea on site before heading back to Hamilton Island - a perfect way to end your fantastic afternoon!
