you can get in easily with your passport ID. this ancient waterworks built 2000 years ago is really amazing and benefited many generations until this day (it's still in use). highly recommend getting a guide. if u alight at dujiangyan station, there is bus and tour guide available multiple trips a day (I choose 1 way shuttlebus at 12rmb + guide at 40 RMB)
Highly recommend Dujiangyan! This 2,000-year-old hydraulic wonder still nourishes the Land of Abundance today. The ancient engineering genius is incredible, the mountain and river scenery is stunning, and it’s a total must-see spot in Sichuan!
Dujiangyan Scenic Area is easily accessible. Visitors only need to present their original ID documents and enter through the manual ticket check lane. The scenic area covers a vast area. Strolling through it, you can truly appreciate the profound culture of the thousand-year-old water conservancy project and the wisdom of the ancient people.
Mt. Qingcheng truly lives up to its reputation as a famous Taoist mountain in China. "Seek water at Dujiangyan, seek Tao at Qingcheng" — the saying is well-deserved. Admission to the scenic area is very convenient; passports can be verified manually for entry. The entire mountain is quiet and serene, with a profound artistic conception, and every step reveals a scene imbued with Taoist charm.
Highly recommend to visit this ancient hydraulic engineering system in Dujiangyan City . We bought tickets through Klook , just scan passport to enter.
Highly recommend Mount Qingcheng! This 2,000-year-old Taoist mountain wonder still stands as a serene escape in the Land of Abundance. The ancient harmony-with-nature wisdom is incredible, the forest and valley scenery is stunning, and it’s a total must-see refreshing spot in Sichuan!
It's very convenient to buy tickets on KLOOK in advance. You can enter directly at the site with your Taiwan Compatriot Travel Document. I highly recommend visiting the Dujiangyan Irrigation System; the wisdom of the ancients is truly remarkable. I suggest hiring a guide to fully understand Dujiangyan!
Dujiangyan is definitely worth visiting, especially for the stunning scenery and impressive engineering history. If possible, start your visit from Gate 4 and walk downhill from there—it’s a much easier and more enjoyable route, with less climbing and better views along the way. I would also recommend hiring a guide. Having someone explain the history, significance, and key points of interest adds a lot to the experience and helps you appreciate the site much more than simply walking through on your own. Overall, a beautiful and fascinating place that combines nature, culture, and history.

Guide

  • As one of the world cultural heritages, Dujiangyan is the oldest, only remaining, and grand water conservancy project in the world today, characterized by dam-free water diversion.
  • Dujiangyan has played an important role in flood control and irrigation for more than 2,000 years and continues to do so today. It is known as the originator of world water conservancy culture and a miracle in the history of human water conservancy engineering.
  • The Dujiangyan Scenic Area not only boasts excellent natural scenery with vast clear waters, perilous cliffs, strange peaks, and ancient towering trees, but also numerous historical sites such as the Yuzui Diversion Dike, Feishayan Spillway, Baopingkou Water Inlet, Anlan Bridge, and Erwang Temple, all with profound historical significance.
  • It is close to the Mount Qingcheng World Cultural Heritage site, making it convenient to visit both together.

Mount Qingcheng is located southwest of Dujiangyan, Chengdu, Sichuan, 68 kilometers from Chengdu. It is a branch of the Qionglai Mountains and is famous for its “secluded beauty under heaven.” Zhang Daoling founded Tianshi Dao here during the Eastern Han Dynasty, making it the birthplace of Taoism and one of the four famous Taoist mountains, known as the “Fifth Grotto-heaven.” In 2000, it was listed as a World Cultural Heritage site along with Dujiangyan. It is a national 5A-level scenic area, divided into Front Mountain (concentrated Taoist temples) and Back Mountain (natural scenery), with Tianshi Cave as the core of its temples.
