Chengdu Dujiangyan & Panda Valley Day Experience

The day trip was fun and itinerary duration was pretty well spread. Started off with Panda Valley (熊猫谷) which was very beautiful and you could see the pandas within close proximity. Then we went for lunch and headed off to the selfie panda (打卡点) which was honestly nothing very special, just for photo taking. Dujiangyan Scenic Area was beautiful. Quite a bit of climbing stairs and all but it was a really a nice experience to see how people in acient days, without morden day technology were able to build such an intricate and powerful irrigation system with stones and bamboo. The guide (Ouyang) was very patient and explained everything to us carefully. He was also an excellent photographer throughout the trip! All of us had an amazing day trip with his guidance!

It was a very enjoyable full-day trip. Time allocated was sufficient and driver/tour guide 小熊 was accommodating and took his time to clearly explain Du Jiang Yan irrigation system to us. Highly recommended.

Our driver/guide Mr Zhang was very friendly and informative. Managed to see lots of Pandas and red pandas at the breeding research centre. Dujiangyan was so beautiful and interesting to know about the history. Had a very enjoyable trip throughout the day. Thank you.

We had an excellent experience with our tour guide, Zhang, during our visit to Panda Valley and Dujiangyan Irrigation System in Chengdu. Zhang was incredibly patient and attentive, especially with our elderly parents. He made sure they were comfortable throughout the journey, never rushing us and always adjusting the pace to suit everyone. That level of care really made a big difference to our trip. He was also very knowledgeable and informative, sharing interesting facts and stories about each location in a way that was easy to understand and engaging. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does. What we appreciated most was that Zhang gave us plenty of time at each stop to explore and take photos without feeling hurried. It made the whole experience much more relaxed and enjoyable. Overall, Zhang is a fantastic guide—professional, kind, and thoughtful. We highly recommend him to anyone visiting Chengdu, especially if you’re traveling with family.

I booked the Chengdu Dujiangyan & Panda Valley small group tour and had a really good experience. Our guide, Xiong (熊导), was both the driver and the tour guide, which made everything very smooth and convenient. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and explained things clearly. There were only two small groups that day, so it didn’t feel crowded at all and the experience was more relaxed and personal. Overall, everything was well organized and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Went for the tour with no expectation, however the itinerary was great with the amazing scenery from the high tower, followed by the blue tears for the river. My driver/guide was knowledgable, respectfully and courteous. Met some nice people on the same tour; overall good experience!

Zoe has been my private tour guide for the day to Panda Base and Dujianyan. She speaks very good English and knowledgeable explaning in detail. I really enjoy the tour.

Knowlegeable and accommodating guide who tailored itinerary and walking distance according to the age group of travellers. He also provided an interesting background of the Dujiangyan irrigation system and brought us to the major spots. Pick up and drop off was at the hotel and instructions clearly communicated the night before. Arrived at panda valley early enough to catch some of the pandas still awake and active.

Did a private tour with our amazing guide Kevin. He was very knowledgeable and catered to our specific needs and adjusted the itinerary according to the crowds at the various destinations to allow us to have an enjoyable experience despite it being a peak holiday period in China. The private car transportation to and from the hotel was comfortable with water provided. While there is alot of walking during the tour it did enable us to see alot within the day. Definitely recommend this tour.

joined the trip on 9 June 2025 and paid about 54 SGD for the Cheng Du Field Research Centre for Giant Pandas. the overall trip was nice and I got to see the pandas and Du Jiang Yan. This trip at Panda segment was chill but be prepared to walk 15000 steps at Du Jiang Yan. Parents with baby prams, beware because there is a need to fold them and carry their baby up and down the steps which was quite intensive for one section where the steps might not be as stable. Tour guide 王洪 was approachable and nice while looking after the group and giving us food recommendations at the end of the trip. Book a massage directly after this trip and you will thank me for it.
