Guide
- Yunqi Bamboo Path is located at the southern foot of Wuyun Mountain, in the southwest of West Lake Scenic Area. It is a park nestled in a mountain valley, boasting a beautiful bamboo forest, making it a secluded and peaceful retreat. Legend has it that in ancient times, five-colored auspicious clouds gathered in the valley, hence its name. It is renowned for its coolness and tranquility, and visiting in midsummer allows one to fully appreciate its lush greenery, coolness, serenity, and elegance.
- Entering the scenic area, a long, winding path stretches deep into the mountains. Dense bamboo groves line both sides, enveloping the path, and a gurgling stream flows down alongside. As you walk along the stone path shaded by green bamboo, sunlight filters through the bamboo leaves, scattering golden spots on the ground. The occasional bird song further enhances the serene beauty of the mountains. The scenic area not only features Yunqi Ancient Temple but also attractions such as Huiyan Peak, Baodao Long, and Biguan Peak, as well as a thousand-year-old Liquidambar tree that requires three people to embrace. It is also a filming location for the movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon."
- At the entrance of Yunqi Bamboo Path, there is a stele pavilion with the four characters "Yunqi Bamboo Path" inscribed on it. The bluestone slabs in the center of the bamboo path are separated from the pebbles on both sides by black bricks. Legend has it that Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty both visited Yunqi, and the central path served as the imperial road for them. Along the path are pavilions such as Xixin, Sanju, Huilong, Yuexing, Huangzhu, and Yuyu. At the end of the bamboo path, ancient trees stand in rows, with a pavilion for rest and a teahouse for a quiet cup of tea.
