Penglai Pavilion is located in Penglai District, Yantai City, Shandong Province, and is known as one of the "Four Great Towers of China" along with Yellow Crane Tower, Yueyang Tower, and Tengwang Pavilion. It was first built in the sixth year of Jiayou in the Northern Song Dynasty (1061 AD), perched high on the Dan'ya Cliff, with the Bohai Sea to its north, and has long been renowned as an "earthly fairyland." This place is not only famous for the rare natural wonder of the "mirage," but also the birthplace of the "Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea" in Chinese folklore, embodying a rich Taoist immortal culture. The entire ancient architectural complex is magnificent and rustic, with pavilions and towers arranged in a picturesque manner. Visitors climbing the pavilion can take in the splendid scenery of the sea and sky merging into one, and deeply feel the mysterious atmosphere of ancient people seeking immortals and enlightenment, making it a cultural landmark that perfectly blends natural beauty with mythical legends.
