Bay of Fires & Binalong Bay Full-Day Tour

Dave is a wonderful tour guide with immense amount of knowledge about Tasmania - he can always tell you something in depth with data and source. He also showed us the Tasmania ecosystem with live examples. We learnt about how Eucalyptus trees propagate, how rainforest is created, how mountains curated climate difference from east to west Tasmania… and so on! Dave also brought us to a private beach for a walk. Beautiful experience. 100% recommend Dave. Best tour guide I’ve even met.

the tour guide was very knowledgeable about Tasmania. it was a small group tour so everyone got to interact with each other too! got to try fresh oysters as well!! it isn’t not that physically intensive as when we went for the tour there were more elderly travellers and they were also able to go through with the tour.

This tour was awesome and definitely must visit in Tasmania. Our Guide David was very sweet. He was kind enough to explain details about each place we visited. He gave us enough time to enjoy the Bay of Fires Area. Thank You !

Had an enjoyable day out with Dave. I was with him too 5 yrars ago, and came back again on his tour. Went to Bridestowe Lavender Farm, got to taste the freshest Tamanian Oysters and went to Bay of Fire. Such a beautiful day out and was so grateful for it. We even had a private beach all to ourselves. That was a romantic stroll with my husband.

Sceneries were very nice. Our guide, David was always energetic. The oysters were fresh and tasted delicious. The only downside was that the lavender hadn’t bloomed yet so maybe there’s no need to go there during this season.

Our driver, David, is a very knowledgeable Launceston local. He knows a lot about Tasmania history, culture and ecology. He led us to a walk through the ancient rainforest and search for different wildlife. No guarantee for wildlife seeing but he knows where to go and who to speak with. We met several friends of him and could feel the Relaxing vibe of this lovely town. Best of the day was the lunch at the beach, thanks for the fresh oysters from a nearby oyster farm. Taking a while looking at the ocean enjoying the sunshine was definitely a great experience for everyone, family, friends, couples, solo. Come to this man and tell him what you want, he will make your day fantastic!

The tour guide was very enthusiastic and helpful, and the introduction was very detailed. The scenery of the Bay of Fires was amazing. It's a pity that this time we went not during the peak blooming period of lavender, which is a bit regretful. I will join this group again if I have the opportunity in the future.

David was extremely knowledgeable on Tasmania. I’ve learnt so much throughout the entire trip. He was able to give facts on everything that you can think of. He also made us feel included in the group by getting our name and where we’re from, and introduced us to the rest of the tour group. While the actual itinerary varied slightly (understandable given circumstances or seasons), most of the activities were quite insightful. I would recommend this tour for anyone who is interested in learning more about Tasmania.

Although it was raining all day, David ensured a wonderful experience. As it was a small group (only 5) the tour was personalised and extremely informative. First stop was the Bridestowe Lavender farm, then as no one was keen on oysters, David took us to see the Legerwood tree carvings instead of the oyster farm. We stopped in Scottsdale to pick up lunch supplies, went for a rainforest walk, and then on to the Bay of Fires. Even in the rain, the rocks looked amazing and David took us to a number of different spots along the coastline. The stop at St Helens for icecream and coffee finished off the day nicely. The return journey was via a different route so we saw a lot more of Tasmania than we expected. David covered a number of topics about Tasmania including History, agriculture, Tassie tigers and devils. He is very knowledgeable and the pride he has for his home state is evident. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and look forward to coming back to Tassie to see other parts with David.
