Chaozhou Ancient City & Longhu Village One-Day Historical Tour

The description stated (50-person group), one person per seat, but perhaps the supplier knew that the actual number of people signing up would be small. Therefore, the product description also indicated that if the number of people is less than twelve, the service would be changed to a driver-guide (but it's not really a "guide" because no one introduced the attractions to us throughout the journey. This was different from what I expected, but it has nothing to do with the driver, as he probably wasn't required to introduce the attractions). On the day of departure, there were only 6 people participating in the tour, so only a 7-seater car was sent to pick us up. The three of us were arranged to sit in the back row, and the space was very crowded. I was sitting in the middle, and I had to squeeze myself throughout the ride, which was very uncomfortable. This lasted for more than an hour each way. As for the attractions, the Han Wen Gong Ancestral Hall and the Guangji Bridge are both worth seeing. It is recommended to spend more time at the Guangji Bridge, which is great for taking photos. However, due to the weekend, there was crowd control at the Guangji Bridge, and we had to queue for a while to get in. We also queued for twenty minutes, and because there was not enough time, we had to walk back to the meeting point after only a few minutes. Then there was lunch. Although there were few people, the company still let us experience Chaozhou beef hot pot. The lean meat could be added indefinitely, but it didn't taste much like beef. On the other hand, the limited fatty beef was quite outstanding. In addition to the beef, there were also some other dishes such as dumplings, radish brisket, and beef balls (this one tasted the best). The lunch experience was above average. After lunch, the driver took us to experience tea drinking and opera. However, because we arrived early (we arrived at 13:00, and the opera started at 14:00), we were arranged to visit Paifang Street and Kaiyuan Temple in advance (but this shortened the time we actually spent visiting these two places, because we had to return to the tea drinking place by 13:45. Therefore, we could only take a quick look, but these two places are actually very good to visit and worth spending more time on, so the experience was not good). As for the tea drinking and opera part, it is worth trying. The tea is good, and the performance is unique. After this session, the driver took us back. The product description on Klook clearly stated that it included "Experience Project: Intangible Cultural Heritage Handicraft Production of 'Red Peach Cake'," but later I don't know why it wasn't included and we went straight back to Shantou. I really hope someone can explain this and that the company truthfully writes out the actual arrangements for this tour. Based on the high price I paid for this tour ($495) and the actual experience mentioned above, the value for money is not high. I originally thought that I could visit both Shanwei and Chaozhou in one trip, so I chose this tour departing from Shanwei. But if this is the experience, I would rather visit the two places separately and not join a tour, at least I can appreciate the attractions slowly. I suggest that anyone interested should think carefully before signing up for the tour.
