Reviews summaryHalong Bay is truly beautiful and must visit place. Our trip was well organized with experience and friendly guide Michael. He took good care of everyone in the group so we felt comfortable and he explained everything clearly. We really enjoyed the amazing scenery and activities without worries. We're lucky the weather was good so we enjoyed sunset with music. The minus was drinking water was not free and evening party only just a little fruit and biscuits.
Here’s a polished version of your text: The trip was well organised, and our guide, Oman, did an excellent job. He gave clear advice about each place we stopped. What I liked most was the sunset at Halong Bay. It was so beautiful and unforgettable.
I joined this tour as a solo female traveler! It was a fulfilling day-long tour! I'll write about the flow of events in detail, I hope it's helpful :) The day before, around 10:30 AM, I received a message on WhatsApp, and again on the morning of the tour at 6:00 AM, the tour guide messaged me to let me know what time they would arrive, so I waited in the hotel lobby at that time. Then, I received a phone call. I was told to come outside because they were arriving soon, so I waited outside, and then I got another phone call. They showed up with someone riding on the back of a motorbike, haha! I thought, 'Are we going to do a three-person ride?!' But then they said, 'The bus is right over there, follow me!' So I chased after the motorbike, and the bus appeared. I boarded the bus with the person who was riding on the back of the motorbike. It was a large bus, and it seemed almost full. There were only two Japanese people, and the rest were foreigners. The bus rides to and from the destination are 2-3 hours each, and you also take a boat, so if you're prone to motion sickness, you'll need motion sickness medicine. I took some in the morning and again in the afternoon. You get a bottle of water on the bus. The tables for eating were random, but everyone was so nice, and we became friends, so we went out for dinner together after the tour. I chose the bamboo boat, and it was cool and refreshing, and there was no additional charge, so that was great! You don't get wet on the bamboo boat! The kayaks are for two people, and solo participants were paired up with random people from India, haha, and they got pretty wet. Someone even almost capsized and drowned in their kayak, so be careful! The guide, Lee, was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English! The caves were also great. On the island, I climbed to the top, but it was incredibly hot!! The steps were steeper than I expected, and it took about 15-20 minutes each way. I bought a Coke at the top, but it was overpriced, so it's better to bring your own drinks. At night, the boat turned into a club, and I cooled off while watching people dance and talking to various people. Even as a solo participant, I made friends and had a great time :) Since you get on and off the bus and boat, you should definitely take a picture of the numbers! I had a lot of fun, thank you very much!!
We had the most amazing trip to Ha Long Bay with our guide Johnny. From pick up and throughout the entire tour we were kept informed, in the loop and were checked up upon to see if we were having a great time. Ha Long Bay itself was gorgeous and we loved the boat, swimming and being surrounded by beautiful scenery. Lunch was delicious and catered for Vegetarians which was wonderful. We cannot speak highly enough of our trip today, and loved our guide Johnny (Handsome)!
This experience is a must when you visit Hanoi. You will be mesmerized with the beauty of The Halong Bay. It was worth your money and your time.. Our tour guide named Johny handsome gave his best to tour us around and tell us some of the Vietnamese way of living. He is one of a kind because He took the initiative to organize all the people (even the ones that are not from our group.)inside the cave to facilitate the movement of people if not we will spend long time inside. He got the energy from the start upto the end of the tour making it more enjoyable for us. Thank you Johny handsome we are very happy to meet you.
It was a well organized tour. The entire trip was enjoyable. The cruise was also nice, including small hike to the cave, the water activity, I enjoyed the kayaking. Mr Dylan was a good guide and the bus was also comfy. The cruise became more lively with sunset party with music and dance.
I chose the reservation focusing on cost-effectiveness, and it was a tour that was sufficiently satisfying for the price. The tour route is the same, and the differences are whether the guide is Korean, the difference between the bus and the ship, and the difference in the food you eat. I don't think it's right to want considerable quality at a low price. However, the guide was able to speak English, and I was worried about the food, but it was much more delicious than I thought. The ship also has 3 floors and the tour time is long enough compared to other tours. In particular, the guide Kimi I belonged to was pleasant and friendly and solved all the problems we had during the tour. I would like to give the best rating as a guide. If you can choose a guide, I hope you take the tour that Kimi belongs to. There weren't many Koreans, but there's no need to be too afraid of English, and if you want a cost-effective tour, I highly recommend it.
We had the best time in Ha Long Bay - not only because of the scenic and breathtaking views but also because our guide, Mr. Kimi, was fun, knowledgeable and knows how to handle the room with tourists from different places. The tour itself was smooth-sailing and fun. We did pay extra for the drinks on board (so best if you can bring your own - in a refillable cup as plastic bottles are not allowed in Ha Long Bay).
We booked our trip with Reina Day Cruise and were picked up right from Hanoi Center before heading out to the stunning Halong Bay. The entire journey was managed by Johnny Mike, our amazing and fun captain. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized — from the timely pick-up to the smooth drop-off. Johnny took great care of us throughout the trip, always checking in to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. His energy and attention to detail truly made the experience unforgettable. The food served on board was very good, and to our surprise, they even provided tea and snacks towards the end of the trip — a thoughtful touch that we really appreciated. It was worth every penny we spent! A special shoutout to Captain Johnny “Handsome” for making the trip so enjoyable, and to our driver for ensuring a safe and smooth ride back to our locations. Highly recommended! 🌟
