What to expect
－Itinerary Introduction－ Toyohashi Fire Festival The history of handheld fireworks dates back over 450 years. Originating at Yoshida Shrine in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, they spread throughout the Higashi-Mikawa region. Their prototype was the signal fire used to transmit messages in ancient times. In the Higashi-Mikawa region, handheld fireworks symbolize prayers for abundant harvests, good health, and family prosperity, making them an essential performance in important local ceremonies!
The highlight, "Dance of Fire," features over 20 handheld fireworks blooming simultaneously in a spectacular and dynamic display, a performance style unique in all of Japan. Bathe in the light of the fire and enjoy the vibrant fireworks in the early autumn night sky!
Toyokawa Inari Shrine Officially named “Myogon-ji Temple,” it has been revered by military commanders such as Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu, all of whom were from this region, since its construction around 580 years ago in the Muromachi period (1441). It is one of Japan’s three major Inari shrines, known for its great efficacy in praying for business prosperity!

An amazing experience. The tour guide was professional and polite, and explained things clearly (as expected from a Japanese guide who can speak Mandarin). The first stop was an orchard for lunch, followed by all-you-can-eat oranges. The lunch was very tasty, and the oranges were sweet and juicy. The second stop was Toyokawa Inari Shrine, where we happily bought amulets and visited the Fox Spirit Mound. The third stop was the main event, the Flame Festival. The seat locations were great, allowing us to enjoy the spectacular festival and fireworks from a good angle. The locals were also very enthusiastic and welcomed photo opportunities with visitors. Actually, there are many more beautiful photos, but unfortunately Klook limits each photo to a maximum of 3MB. Nowadays, mobile phones have high pixel counts, and most photos exceed 3MB and cannot be uploaded and shared, which is a pity.
The bus was very big and comfortable, and the tour leader made excellent arrangements. The itinerary was very full. The lunch at the orange grove was delicious. Toyokawa Inari was very large, and the tour leader arranged enough time to walk around. The Fire Festival was great to watch, and I was so happy to be sitting in the first row. The fireworks were right in front of our seats.
