Extremely helpful, polite, and multilingual front desk staff. Excellent luggage storage, daily housekeeping, daily amenity replenishment, and smooth check-in process.

Cleanliness

Immaculately clean rooms and well-maintained bathrooms. Fresh towels, crisp bedding, clean pajamas, and pleasant-scented toiletries provided daily.

Atmosphere & facilities

Unique European classic design with vintage charm. Comfortable beds, smart TVs with streaming services, large bathrooms, quiet courtyard views, and charming on-site chapel.

Fantastic

For business

Although the rooms decor and furniture were showing their age and requires upgrade, the room was very clean. the bed and pillow were so comfortable. The smart TV was helpful with Netflix & Prime available. Breakfast is the best I have experienced yet in hotels in Osaka. A very large buffet style selection and large tables with table cloths and silver cutlery. Very nice indeed.

Solo stay

Room was nice and clean. Great location and near Osaka Station and walking distance to Kitte shopping and restaurants. Also walking within walking distance to Laundry facilities. I would definitely stay here again.

Loved this hotel!!! It’s charming, and everything about it was lovely. It is near the train station which was really convenient when we came and left. And from the hotel we walked or caught subways nearby to everything. The best meal I had during the entire trip was hotel breakfast buffet. I could write a novel about it. Also, my favorite hotel pajamas were here as well. The front desk staff were so wonderful! They gave us recommendations and helped us figure out a few issues we had … all with a smile and patience. I loved everything.

Lovely 50s style vintage hotel, but with all required amenities in room. Gothic lifts with brass arrow pointers, a first for me in all my travels. Good airconditioning in rooms, and controllable (important in Japanese weather) Bathroom is shower over bath, with deluxe toiletries provided, inc cotton pyjamas.

Two things that I was disappointed with: no laundry facilities on property (though 39 Laundry was a few blocks away so we did go there a few times) and the glass window on the bathroom door. That made me very uncomfortable even if I was with my family. Two things that I loved: water pressure is amazing!!! And the beds are very comfortable. Staff were super helpful in providing directions, helping w takkyubin, and check-in/out were very smooth. Also loved their willingness to lend us umbrellas during the typhoon ;)! We weren’t able to enjoy the breakfast since we’re not big on buffets for breakfast. Would have preferred an Ala carte option instead.

We stayed during a construction period and experienced zero issues with noise, staff was extra helpful and accommodating as well. Highly recommend staying here if you are in Osaka. 5 minutes from the station and major shopping areas cannot beat it.

We really liked this hotel. We stayed at a variety of hotels in Japan which we usually pick for location and access. This one close to subway which made it easy to get around and a nice mall just down the street with lots of eating options. The hotel had an old world charm and a European feel. We were on the 13th floor which was extremely quiet. It was lovely to be able to open a window to the courtyard and the option for dimming lamp lighting gave it a cozy feel in the evening. The bathroom was large with lots of counter space. A little room table and chairs nice for coffee break. Staff replenished slippers, pajamas, towels and water daily. Breakfast was amazing and staff fabulous.

The room was excellently cleaned everyday, towels were replaced daily including the sheets, all the staff were very polite and helpful, I love the hospitality of the Japanese people. The breakfast buffet was really good with lots of choices. The air conditioning in the room was excellent. The location of the hotel is excellent, just a minute walk to the Umeda JR train station and the mall is right beside the train station, lots of choices to eat, cafe, restaurants, the corner pizza serves yummy pizza and other stuff. I would definitely stay at Hotel Monterey Osaka again on my next visit to Japan.
