Beautiful and central to all attractions in Lake Yamanakako. Hotel competently sent our luggage to Tokyo through Yamato for us. If you’re looking for modern facilities, prompt communication you will be disappointed. We hired bikes, and arrived back a little late, clerk at reception was very rude on the last day which was a shame.

We were happy to stay in a comfortable place near the lake. It's a brief walk down to the lake shore, and we saw swans! We relaxed our tired muscles in the hot waters of the onsen, and then in the morning it was a short drive to see the incomparable Mt. Fuji!

It has been a wonderful and relax stay. I would suggest to come here with your own transport. - Ease of Check-In (check-in info can be filled online prior to check in at the hotel) - Available of Public Bath (from 4pm to 9am) - Delicious Local Breakfast (ochazuke) - Free Private Parking - Free Wifi - Available of Entertainment such as Table Tennis (Me and my son had a fun time playing) - Only need to take note that there is No Lift to room level (we stay at level 2)

This hotel is special. It's located in a forest across from one of the 5 lakes of Fuji. Is has the feel of an older Adirondack country resort, especially with the autumn colors we experienced. Rooms are large, comfortable, well equipped and in good condition. We had a western room in the annex. I'm sure the Japanese rooms in the main building will be superb. The staff is some of the friendliest we met during our month in Japan. Always smiling, and going out of their way to make our visit special. English is minimal since they mostly have Japanese guests. You'll want to have your translate app handy. Also, having a car or borrowing a bicycle from the hotel is a good idea since the restaurant zone starts about a mile west on the lakeside road. The city park on the east end of the lake has an ideal view for exquisite morning sunrise views of Fuji. Highly recommended -

I stayed here so we could be close to the lake. We really loved it here. They had the most comfortable beds. It was refreshing to stay there and the workers were nice.

Originally built in 1933 as a youth camp, it maintains the "camp" sort of feel. Our room was in the annex which has a game room on the first floor. There are no elevators and the facilities are rather dated. However, the beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. The people at the front desk were very nice. The property sits back from the main road so it was nice and quiet. Breakfast was limited to one Japanese set but it was good and tasty.
